    carbs

Just your preference. When losing I like the Atkins with 2 g carbs or Premier with 5 g. In maintenance I can stand a little more 10-12 g. No more than that for me. Good luck!
  2. I was part of the anthem BCBS bariatric case management. Mine was a free service that provides a nurse to call and check on you monthly. As a nurse practitioner I thought it would be pointless. But actually it was kinda nice. Just another person wishing me well and saying encouraging things when I got off track. It's weird they are asking months later but it may be to cover their butts if they were supposed to follow up sooner. I was almost kind of sad when my nurse told me she wouldn't be calling anymore after 8 months.
  3. Congrats on your pregnancy! Just sending well wishes. I'm glad I saw your post. I'm considering trying for one more baby.
  4. I hadn't had a period in years before surgery. Had one 2 weeks after surgery that lasted 18 days o_O
  5. Breakfast- boiled egg and coffee Snack- Atkins chocolate shake Lunch- Natures Valley Protein bar Snack- almonds/cashews/slim jim Dinner- chicken breast and veggies Snack- rice cakes/nuts Roughly around 1000 calories with 80 grams of carbs and 60 grams of protein for a day like the one listed above.
  6. I agree and disagree with just about everything that has been posted in response to the OP. I would find a post WLS expert who could offer more insight into why you may still be this hungry at 5 weeks out. It may be physiologic or physical in nature meaning it could be not enough stomach out or hormonally. And boobyholes hormones do play a huge role in addictions of most forms including food addiction. The best treatment for most physical addictions is a combination of CBT therapy and finding external ways to counteract the cravings you have from your internal hormones being out of wack. I have a known/documented dopamine and dopamine receptor deficiency that has been a major driver for my food addiction. Unfortunately there is not much in the way of hormonal treatment that would help this so I can either still eat as a means to satisfy the hormone imbalance or try to find other ways to "treat" myself. For me the sleeve made it impossible to get the same amount of satisfaction through eating massive quantities so I am forced to find other things to get into besides food thought all day. I have a post somewhere a year back right after surgery where I wanted to shoot myself because I was so "hungry". I don't know that anything we post is going to be very helpful without the OP getting some further medical investigation to see if there are true physical or hormonal issues at the root of the problem. Good luck and keep us posted if you find something that works out.

    Nuts

Everyone's different. I added nuts around month 6. I eat 1-2 servings of almonds or cashews daily. My tummy still rumbles pretty loudly every time I eat nuts and I'm a year out. I guess it's just more work to digest the nuts. Good luck.
  8. I agree with everything you said Fiddleman. My low carb is 70g or less. Anything over 150 I stall. I find it difficult to add good carbs like fruit without going overboard! So when it came time to add more calories I turned to fat instead in the form if nuts. I eat 1-2 servings of almonds or cashews daily. I exercise 3-4 times per week, I focus on getting my heart rate between 130-150 bpm for 35 minutes for optimal fat burning and then I do some toning and strength training for 15-20 minutes. Ok, now I'm going to not hijack this thread anymore!
  9. I stick to low cal low carb MOST days. When I keep my carbs low the weight comes off. When I don't watch my carbs I don't lose. I love the sleeve. I could have never maintained this type of diet/ lifestyle without it.
  10. I weigh every morning. I only record losses. If I go up a few pounds I psych myself out to work to get them off again.
  11. My surgiversary was March 13, 2013. I've lost 100 lbs. Went from 260 lbs to 160 lbs. Size 24W to size 12/14 ladies/13 juniors, 2x tops and bottoms to Med tops and large bottoms. Measurements bust/waist/hips 42/42/53 inches to 36/32/38. I'm 5'2'' with a current BMI of 29 down from 48. I have 24 lbs to get to a "normal" BMI I'm 10 lbs away from my personal goal of 150 lbs. I'm eating between 900 and 1100 cal per day aiming for 60 g of Protein and 60 g of carbs. I can eat most foods, slowly. I'm having a more difficult time avoiding snack foods. My mind/mirror image has not caught up with my current weight (I still feel very fat and see a fat girl in the mirror) So all in all I have come a long way and have a long way to go still. I'm so grateful for this journey. Peace and blessings fellow sleevers! ill
  12. Yeah, I think I'm going to try to go lower to lose these last killer 15lbs. Maybe aim for 900 or so. Thanks
  13. Thought I'd ask how everyone is doing and see how many calories people are taking in now. I'm 1 year post op and 15ish pounds away from goal and its feeling like a lost cause! In the last 3 weeks my calories have inched up to 1100 and I feel terrible about it. (Don't know why I just do). Just trying to feel out what others are into.

    Raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar?

I periodically use it. I usually put 1-2 table spoons in some warm water with a little bit of honey, sort of like a tea. It helps with indigestion, acid reflux, and curbs my appetite. I'm a fan! Hate the smell though.
  15. My best advice is to stay positive and patient. She how your body reacts to being sleeved and learn your weight loss pattern. If you know how your body loses you will be less likely to get discouraged. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. I'm working on the whole exercise thing When I do exercise I jog for 30 mins on the treadmill and then do 20 minutes of stationary bike with sit-ups and squats. I do have some skin sagging of my inner thighs and I would love a tummy tuck (I had an unforgiving twin pregnancy!) Good luck!!!
  16. Thanks for the encouragement guys, it means so much at this point in my life.

    mind - mirror - scale

I've been thinking the same thing recently. I'm about 15 pounds away from a "normal" BMI. My goal was to be about 145lbs. So I'm maybe 17 lbs away from that. I look in the mirror and I feel huge. I had a co-worker tell me to stop losing weight today before I started looking sick. I checked my BMI today and for the first time in many years I'm not morbidly obese or obese. Why do I still feel obese?!

    Daily nutrition stats?

I've got another 25 lbs to go (15 to my personal goal, 25 for a normal BMI) and I am trying to keep my calories under 1000, protein 79 grams (which I never meet), carbs under 79. Once I get to around 150 carbs I start stalling in my weight loss. Anything over 200 carbs and I start gaining. I'm 5'2 started at 260lbs and currently weigh 164.

    6 oz of italian ice?

Yup, sounds about right because its a liquid.
  21. It depends on what matters most to you. For me taste is really important. I eat a Nautre Valley bar daily (the protein version). They have two flavors (that really taste similar) peanut/dark chocolate and peanut/almond/dark chocolate. Both are 180 cal, 10 G protein, 14 g carbs. I like Atkins too, but for the size, some of their bars have too many carbs (strange) for me. The Nature Valley bars taste great, are very filling, and keep me like a full meal for 2-3 hours.
  22. Please take this as the compliment I mean it to be but the before pic looks like the after pic's mom. You are rocking that sleeve. You look so young and vibrant. Great work! (ps my husband told me one if my before pics looks like I was my own grandma :-p )
