    Ditching the protein shakes

I'm 2.5 years out and I find the best way to maintain my weight or lose more is to have at least one shake a day.

    Weight During/After Pregnancy

I was 218 lbs when I got pregnant with twins pre-sleeve. I gained 30 lbs and didn't ever lose them really. That's what I can't understand about gaining so much post sleeve. Many people get pregnant shortly after surgery so there are tons of stories about people losing weight while pregnant. I'm never that lucky!

    Hi

Protein shakes may be a good option. Talk with your OB and your surgeon to get a good plan going. Good luck.

    Weight During/After Pregnancy

I got pregnant at 18 months out and I was 2 lbs from goal. I gained 71lbs. I'm 6 weeks post partum and I have lost 30 lbs so far. I'm taking adipex to try and get at least 20 of the other 40lbs off by December.
  8. I was sleeved 3/2012 and found I was pregnant 10/2013 so I was about 18 months out from surgery and down 115lbs (2 lbs from my goal if 145lbs). I started gaining weight very rapidly during pregnancy and felt no restriction at all by the time the second trimester came. I gained 71lbs. I am 6 weeks post partum and have lost 30 of the 71lbs. It was a struggle to start losing again due to hormones and lack of sleep. I started back taking adipex so that I could retrain myself to feel full. I've lost 9lbs in the past 10 days. Most of my weight is in my thighs. My body fat went from 27% to now 44%
  9. Does anyone know tiffykins facebook name? I am 16 weeks pregnant and struggling. I would love to get some advice from her or Cherie or anyone else who has had a successful pregnancy and postpartum experience.

  11. Wooow! You look fabulous!!! I'm down -33 lbs. I'll post pics in Jan! Was sleeved 11/7/12 :-) what a inspiration. Question: Do u have a hard time drinking 1cup? I am. Does it get easier? I'm trying to get in all my fluids. Hard but I'm doin it :-) Thanks! I don't have any problems eating or drinking 1 cup now. It kinda makes me nervous! But now im expecting so I can't focus too much on it. Good luck to you!
  12. Just checking in. It's been 18 months and I'm 3lbs from my next goal. Hope all you March/April 2012 sleevers are doing well. Pre-op 260 lbs Surgery day- 251lbs Current- 148 lbs Goal- 145 lbs

Where do I stop...goal weight related....

My body fat is 33% according to the same scale I've had for 6+ years (so at my highest weight- 260lbs to now my lowest weight-147 lbs). I started at 50%. I will try to post some big pants pics. My first goal was 160lbs. When I got there I knew I wast happy. My next goal was 155, then 150, now it's 145 and I can guess at 2lbs away that I won't be happy there. My husband does not want me to lose any more weight. He liked the 160lbs look. A normal BMI would be 136lbs. At 18 months out my mind still plays tricks on me. I still feel very heavy most days.
  14. I was maybe 4 weeks post op and still on liquids/very soft foods. I was so freakin hungry. I stopped at a White Castle and bought one cheese burger. I chewed it and spit it out just to have the taste in my mouth. I figured the burgers are technically soft so why not? I'm 18 months out and 3 lbs from my next goal and I still don't get in all of my fluids or protein. I try but I fail a lot, but I live to try again!
  15. Hahaha, they actually have my exact weight loss. 111 lbs is apparently the amount of red meat the average American eats in one year!

    Drinking with meals

Love the info on the pyloric valve. I too am a huge drinker! After I was newly sleeved I could not eat and drink at the same time because I couldn't get food in with too much fluid. Now at the 1.5 year mark I normally sip with my food if I don't it's difficult for me to get the food in due to dryness. I can't say I notice any difference with losing/gaining with the drinking either. I started back drinking with my meals at maybe 6 months out.
  17. Thanks ladies. I find that I'm very carb sensitive so I really have to watch that.
  18. I was diagnosed with PCOS 6 years ago.
  19. I'm 5'1.5 and I was 260 at start and 250 on day of surgery 3/13/12. I'm currently at 154lbs. My goal is 140lbs. So at 1 year and 3 months out I'm 14lbs from goal. I have been at 155ish for 2 months though.

    Just curious

When I was pregnant I did take my pre-natal vitamins at night and I didn't feel any worsening of morning sickness. The only thing that has ever made me feel any differently is the Metformin I take for PCOS, I take that at night and it rumbles my belly in the morning but it has always been a major gi upsetter anyway. Trying to conceive this time around for me is even more interesting than the first time. I knew what I was up against 4-6 years ago and 110lbs ago ( I have PCOS and a pituitary tumor), this time I'm not sure how my body is going to act. Fingers crossed and babydust to you when you do start to try!!

    Just curious

I take a horse tablet multi-vit with iron and folic acid. I usually take all of my medicines at bedtime to avoid upset stomach. (my stomach can't hurt if I'm asleep!)
  22. Awesome! Keep up the good work, you look great!

    60% loss of excess weight?

You can definitely lose 100% of your excess weight! I am 13 months out and I am down 85% of the 124 lbs that would put me at a "normal" BMI. I personally only aim to lose another 5-10 lbs and not the full 19 pounds that would put me at a BMI of 27 vs 25. Good luck and happy losing to all!!
