I Am having an emotional breakdown. It's been 12 days since surgery and I was doing "ok". Well I'm not ok! I am an OVEREATER and I am angry, tired, and scared of being one. I've been overeating as long as I have been able to open the refrigerator door, since the first time I was made fun of as a kid and ever had my feelings hurt or ego bruised. Dammit I wanna eat!!!! But since I can't I just came here to rant and scream the things I wish I could say to my husband but that he wouldn't understand because he's always been thin or what I can't say to my mom or friends because they would think I'm crazy. I don't usually play the why me card, I usual try to pick myself up by saying "why not me". I know there are starving children, wars, famine, and people with problems greater than being fat, etc. But tonight just on this board in front of random strangers I'm asking why me?! I want to wake up and not be hungry, not head hungry, not stomach hungry, not emotionally hungry, just f-ing not hungry! Grrrrr! Ok, I feel slightly better and no I'm not crazy (at least I wasn't before I got sleeved, according to the psych eval) I just needed to vent.

Thank you all for the support. It is so good knowing that there are people who understand this process. Your words are truly a blessing to me right now.

Yay! Awesome results!!!! -
I had a tomato and gorgonzola soup earlier. That was pretty tasty! Hope you had something good.

Would the liquid, canned chilli sauce be acceptable during this phase? It's vegetarian so no meat and it has no beans either.
-
LoserMom, I know all to well about that. My sister told me that my weight goal was not going to be attractive because "you're not built to be that small"! Lol
-
My mother in law said the same thing. I will be seeing them next weekend and I had surgery 10 days ago. She says, "oh you'll be so thin when we see you" lol yeah right!

You Can Definitely Overeat In The Liquid Phase!
New1 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my sleeve journey is in it's infant stage and I'm learning and changing as I go. I'm 9 days p/o. Just found out the hard way that you can overeat, better yet, overdrink your sleeve. I had 2 sips too many and upchucked a meal of protein shake. That's what I get, I've commented on several posts that "I don't feel any real restriction" blah blah blah... Well I jus felt some real restriction for my butt! -

You look beautiful! Congrats on your successes! And, I love that hairstyle in your after pic! -
My best friend asked on the day of surgery, "how soon will you see results?" lol. I told her as soon as my big butt starts eating right and exercising!

Not Thrilled About 2 Week Pre-Op Liquid Diet...
New1 replied to Mab's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Keep the faith guys!! I realized once you get to the other side, part of the reason for the pre-op diet is to get you prepared for the post-op diet!!! The mental part of the diet is just as important as the physical weight loss, plus they call the pre-op weight loss forever weight loss so it sounds cool :-p ! Good luck to all of you! -
WLS has been around longer than Kirstie and Oprah, so I'm sure if they ever wanted to try WLS they could have. I suppose it's a personal choice that they just aren't interested in at this point.
-
Some people really believe they can nix their weight issues with diet and exercise. Some people are "anti surgery". Both Kirstie and Oprah seem to be the anti surgery types. Wishing them both the best of luck. I just looked at th statiscs for keeping weight off and the statistics for complications from sleeve surgery and I liked the odds of surgery better for myself.

You look good! Good job! -
I wouldn't say mine were severe but I did have cramps after introducing refried beans 2 days ago, so I stopped and went back to clears for 1 day then full liquids the next day. I took 2 full days for my sleeve to "calm down" after that. If yours continues definitely let your doc know. Good luck, I hope you feel better.

I'm 7 days post op and started refried beans today. I had about 1-2 tablespoons mixed with water. It felt ok going down, I felt full and stopped when I noticed the thick feeling in my throat telling me I had gone to far. Fast forward 5-6 hours later and I am having a mild, dull pain in my stomach. I am totally full and have not had anything else today except sips of water. I'm wondering if what I'm experiencing is gas pain or something else. I'm definitely gonna take my diet back to fluids for a few days but is it possible to stretch or cause a leak with a meal of refried beans. Help!!!
-
I'm thinking the refried beans were just a terrible choice for a first food. I feel like it's taking forever to "work" them back out. I took it easy today related to eating and just took in fluids and an ice pop. If I feel better I'll try something else tomorrow.

I'm curious for the different ages on here
New1 replied to jamie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm so weird but this thread is so moving to me! To read all the comments and see what point everyone is/was when this life changing tool helped them. Somehow this is uplifting to me. Anyhoo! I'm 29 and will be 30 in December. I was sleeved 8 days ago and hope to make 30 looking and feeling like the best birthday I ever had!! I think this was the best age for me to have this done. -
Too funny! All you ladies are doing so well!

I too have PCOS exacerbated by weight. I have been taking Quasense the generic for Seasonale for 4 months and so far so good. I did notice the smallest amount of light, pink on the tissue 2 days post op so I'm not sure what that was all about. I should have a regular period 2.5 months from now. My biggest fear is getting pregnant prior to reaching my goal weight. Hubby and I will be very cautious until then!
