OK, I am 9months post op, never an issue at all since being sleeved, I just HATE eating. It isn't enjoyable at all. In fact, it actually feels more like work now than anything. I eat slow, take small bites, watch what I eat. It just feels gross when I eat, and I can still feel my sleeve moving when digesting (tmi, sorry). Milk tears my stomach up now, but I can still have cheese and yogurt. Ya see, the issue is, I know I HAVE to eat, for health and nutrition, but I simply don't want to. My husband even mentioned that eating with me is depressing. He said I just look sad! Anyone else feel like this?

Eat or drink protein?
3lilrams replied to Takingcontrol's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do shakes on occasion. Sometimes in the morning, sometimes late evening if I am short on protein for the day. Dont see how it matters as long as you are staying within your dietary requirements. -

3lilrams replied to miiszsexy171's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Heaviest-325, Surgery 2/13/12-310, to date 148. 177lbs GONE!!! -
1- What daily diet recommendations did your NUT give you? I have noticed that all NUT's recommend different things, I am just curious what the middle ground is. 2- Have you ever had bad achy pain in your sleeve area, left side? It's going around in my back, up under my ribs. Hurts like HECK!! (Background...51 weeks post op, 178lbs lost. No post op problems at all.I AM however, sick with bronchitis, but this is localized pain) TIA!

It is possible. My 7y/o has walking pneumonia. It just seems more like sleeve pain.
-
I have been coughing really hard. Actually, the pain started while eating dinner tonight. I had bbq chicken, and once I started to hurt, I stopped eating. It is a dull achy throb.
-
BTW, I have no gall bladder.

Oops...I meant left...like I said, I'm sick!

breast options after weight loss
3lilrams replied to NurseMom's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I didn't lose cup size at all...still a DD, but my breast are loose, and slide out of my bra easily. Not firm at all. I do NOT want any type of surgery to correct this, but would like to firm them up naturally. -
Anyone having/had any issues with fainting since loosing weight? I am down from 325 to 159, and have been passing out occasionally. I really need to see my surgeon after the holidays.

Down 123 in 6 mo but getting concerned..
3lilrams replied to Looking Ahead's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Treating yourself to a small snack every once in a while is nothing to worry about. Now, I am certainly not saying to eat a candy bar everyday...in fact, I'd limit it to maybe a piece of chocolate a week. Dark Chocolate is very good for your heart and blood flow, so try that to curve your cravings. Less guilt. I am 10 months out, and 4 lbs away from my final goal of 155 (down from 325). Initially, I set my goal for 175, then passed that, and went to 165, now I am 159. Right now, I just need to tone up, and the other 4lbs will fall off. But I am still losing...lost 8lbs last month. I have treated myself on occasions. Just keep your head held high, and keep focused!! The holidays will give you that mentality of wanting the goodies!! -
I can drink all day long, and it never phases me! I live off Crystal Light Iced Tea! Thats the only way I can get my daily Water content in!

So glad you are healing up well. That had to have been scary. I used to even love eating out, now I feel defeated, because I know everything on the menu is terrible, and its just a waste to spend the money, when I won't put a dent on even a kids meal. So, I have resorted to just grazing off everyone's plates. The family doesn't mind. LOL!! Enjoy your evening out!

Thanks everyone. I used to LOVE to eat, and now it isn't pleasant. I worry I may gain an ounce, whether I am making the right choices in my meals, what I should be doing different. I have basically moved on from the shakes, because of the intolerance of milk, but I'll probably have to start on them again soon since I am worried I am not getting the right amount of nutrition. I am still losing, which is great, but I don't want to become sick. It seems as though the smoother the food, the easier it is to handle. Yogurt, applesauce, mashed potatoes. Or if its crisp, crunchy, like popcorn, crackers, etc. I eat like a bird. I'm not complaining that I want to eat more, or less...I just know I need my nutrition, and it concerns me that I may never enjoy food again, and how that will affect my diet. I did enjoy Thanksgiving. We cooked on Sunday, and I had turkey, cranberry sauce, dressing and deviled eggs, all at very small amounts, and taking my time. But that is one meal I absolutely always have loved. Just glad to know I am not the only one who feels this way.

I am 9months post op. I lost 15lbs prior to surgery, and the rest within the last 9months. I exercise when I can, it comes in spurts, depending on my crazy schedule. Sometimes is 5 times a week, sometimes I'm lucky to get in 1x a week!.

What Does Goal Look Like For You?
3lilrams replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My realistic goal was 175. I hit it and passed it up, so lets keep truckin'! I am at 168 now. My next goal was 165, so when I get there, if I don't lose another lb, I'll be fine with maintaining the weight and exercising. My LOVE LOVE LOVE Goal was to be at 150. My NUT and DH both seem to think I can and will get there, but I am just trying to keep an open mind, so if I don't get there, I won't be disappointed. Right now, I am a 12/14. Very happy with my progress, just need to work on toning up. -
Sick Of The Stall!
3lilrams replied to mendymayhem's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No worries! You do have that great 6month window where you will lose more, but even after, you still lose until your body is comfortable and where it wants to be. I am 9months out, and still losing. Last month I lost 15lbs. Keep your head up, and stay focused! -
Well obviously I was sleeved for a reason. I LOVED to eat, hence me getting up to 325 lbs after having 3 kids. But now, since being sleeved, it feels like a task to eat. I have to have the nutrition, But also, a part of me fears getting heavy again. I am down to 168, and I watch every bite that goes into my mouth.

Kidney Stone/uti In Er Today
3lilrams replied to N/A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
BLESS YOUR HEART!!!! Been there, a couple times this year. My experience was similar, minus the vomiting. But, I was miserable with pain. The ER doc gave me a shot of demerol every 30 minutes, and phentermine too. I came home on Percocets, ad slept for 3 days. A couple months later, while we were on vacation, I got sick with the stones again, on top of that, I was impacted! TERRIBLE day! We had to leave Animal Kingdom early, so I could go home and go to bed. Make sure you get your daily intake of water...it is so important! Try your best to pass those stones, and take it easy! Sending prayers!!
