Ok, another one of my "on the fly" recipes. Ground chicken was used because I find ground turkey dry and bland, but you could sub turkey if its your thing. Full of flavor and simple. 1lb ground chicken 2Tbsp Franks Red Hot Sweet Chili sauce 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp chili powder (or more if u like spicy) Mix ingredients, form patties. Grill or throw in a frying pan..I used a george forman and have used a frying pan, no extra oil needed. Makes 4 4oz burgers..3oz after cooking. Cal 198, Carb 5.4g, protein 22

Richmond Virginia Sleevers Around?

Geeky, stay strong! You can do it!! I know its frustrating...if losing were easy, we wouldn't look at weight loss surgery. Duh.; ) Have you thought about following something similar to the preop diets? So many here have said they lost a good amount before surgery dates. -

rdoactv replied to Sleeved&Hopeful's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats! And thank you! Im only 5'0 and 205. you give me hope that even us "shorties" can get there in reasonable time. Lol -
Rarely do I see negativity here. Occasionally, yes. But with so many ppl from all walks of life, not every persons way of responding will appeal to every individual. Now,I have seen others step in when one member is treating or responding in a blatantly rude or disrespectful fashion, I am one of those who will say " hey, kinda uncalled for. We're here for eachother" and if I respond unduly to someone, I would hope someone would "tap" me on the shoulder and help me see my folly. Perhaps Ive had a bad day, or my hormones are raging lol.I take what each person offers with gratitude and respect and decide which advice is best for me. But I appreciate all well meaning responses, and consider the lack of inflection in a post.I consider these ppl my "friends" and "sleeve family" and am grateful for them. Im not even sleeved yet, but have learned so much here. Im sorry you didn't have the same experience. But I wish you the best and good luck in your journey.

Wow Alicia. That is shocking. Dr. Elliott was head guy of the bariatric program there. Ive heard good about Dr. Brengman but no personal experience. VCU also has a bariatric surgury center with a good rep. -

At What Weight Limit Did You Say "you Have Had Enough"?
rdoactv replied to Gonnabeslim1day's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
For me it was when I looked in the mirror after reaching several life goals and realized that no matter what I accomplish it would never make me love myself. -
Im curious..just looking at stats. If willing, Id like to know who your surgeon was, when, starting BMI and wt lost. Thanks all..just trying to satisfy a personal curiosity.

Good luck Alicia! I hope it goes thru without a hitch. I've decided to schedule with Dr. Kelly in Mex. for next March. -
Inline, thanks for sharing. Its a big deal so its nice to know what to expect throughout the experience. Congrats in getting your spot on the losers bench ; ) best of luck and keep us posted.
-
Congrats Niki : ) Im happy for you. Im not sure if scheduling 8 mos in advance as Omar suggests is a good move or not lol, seems needless, but on the other hand, a motivator for saving the remaining cash and the feeling of "making progess towards a better me". Just seems weird to have to say I have a date...next year. Lol

I emailed Omar. He is quick to respond! Even though I told him I wouldn't be ready until around march of next year and not to rush(I know he's busy with more immediate patients), he still sent the info and said I could send the info, get approval from Dr. Kelly and tentatively schedule a date immediately. He could have easily put me on the back burner but he didn't. That says alot. Im impressed. Thanks for the info. Im glad I decided to contact him and look into Dr. Kelly.
