Did You Quit Coffee? If So, How?
Cheles replied to feszyk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit back in Nov 2011. I switched to Oolong tea which can be re-steeped 6x. The first three days my head ached badly. Since I quit I have tried coffee 5x and now I don't like the taste...go figure. I had been drinking coffee since I was a little girl. Even my friends have commented they cannot believe I don't drink it anylonger. -

Thanks everyone. I really couldn't have gotten to that 199 goal without the members of this board. Ya'll mean very much to me! -

I really hated looking at myself before my sleeve. However, one of my dearest friends had taken a picture of me 1-month before my surgery while at a football game. This picture truly showed how large I had become. I hated this picture, but it's proof of what the sleeve can do for you. The second picture is this past weekend. The success of my sleeve is truly visible. I'm very proud to have taken the opportunity to save my life and make the sleeve work for me. Good luck to all of you who have undergone and/are beginning this transformation.

I'm (Finally) Getting Married! ( And Tying In A Half Marathon) Lol
Cheles replied to fern's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
AWESOME! Congrats on the wedding! -
I'm not sure if this a b***h or a rant. But, here goes. So, I'm leaving my job and changing careers in June. This has been planned for over a year, and I'm scared to death of the big test coming up. I have faith that I'll pass it, but it's 8-hours worth of testing....even in college I never endured 8-straight hours of testing. As for career change, I'm going back to where I started, but this time I'll be the owner and not a worker bee. If I decided to stay in my current career there would be no chance of movement because only the clique gets hired. Or as I was told yesterday...the best. WTF, really? It looks like ya'll are just hiring your friends and no one else!

Eating Is A Chore Now!
Cheles replied to Sleevorama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3-months post-op. I can tell you from my experience it is a chore to eat. I always try to get a protien shake in for the morning to get at least 1/2 my protien in for the day. Then I have some cheese cubes about 5, some tuna or chicken salad with 5-crackers for lunch. dinner, well, I don't cook anymore so it's either some protien or a salad with some cheese, bacon bits, and fat free dressing. I guess the worst part is remembering to eat for me. Sometime I don't remember and it's my sleeve that reminds me. -
WOO HOO! You rocked your sleeve, girl!

So, I've been trying to be good on the shopping side. I guess my biggest love of shoes is greater than my love for food....thankfully that one is finally under control...thank you sleeve. Today I had to return a pair of heels that I really didn't like, and I exchanged them for a pair of sandals since I have lost my other sandals to weight loss. But, being bored and tired of working and studying I ended up in a department store trying on shoes for 1.5 hours. I finally picked on pair of red stacked heels...the were cute and would go nicely with jeans. Did I mention I love shoes? (yeah, I've probably purchased 8 new pair in the last two months)...bad, bad. But it's such a dream to finally be able to wear beautiful shoes again and not just one's that fit my feet. But it didn't stop there. I decided to try on some designer jeans. I pulled a size 16 and they were too big. The sales lady kindly brought me a size 14 and oh yeah...they looked fabulous! Then, I walked over the the Calvin Klein's and decided to try my luck. My gosh...the outfit fit and it was on-sale!!!! I really don't know how to behave having the ability to buy "regular" clothes. For over 20-years I've only shopped the women's section. But now this is just crazy. I have to be careful I could really begin to love shopping for the 1st time in my life.

I was 5'7" and just at 310 when I had decided I was going to do it. I lost 25 lbs before my consult.
