  1. I do have UHC...hospital experience was great too!! I didn't have many hoops to jump through at all...just the basic, consult, go to the seminar, psych eval...then surgery!!
  2. I didn't see Dr. Eagon, I went to Dr. Jay Snow and he has been wonderful!! I started with a BMI of 40 also, and I have been very happy with my results. I didn't have to do a six month diet. I went for my consult in January and had surgery on Feburary 22nd. I've never looked back

    Week 28 (7 Months)

    Can I be a Scale Pal too? I am in the same boat as the two of you also...I keep bouncing between 190-192 and I would like to get about 30 more pounds off. I think it would be very helpful for me to have to be accountable to for my weigh-ins.
  4. Just wondering, I know that most everyone is counting protein, carbs, sugars, ect. When counting your carbs, are you counting all carbs taken in or do you only count NET CARBS (carbs - fiber)? Prior to surgery, I did Adkins for a while, successfully, and counted NET CARBS. Just looking to see what others are doing. Thanks

    Counting Carbs

    kcage- I was in a 4 week stall and very frustrated I was keeping track of my intake of calories, but not really concentrating on the breakdown of them ( protein, carbs, sugar, fiber). I started keeping my track of each individually (my fitness pal is FANTASTIC), and I have broken the stall with a 6 pound loss this week. I have been just counting all carbs, not figuring the NET carbs. I have a goal of 700 calories( most days I meet that), 44 carbs, 15 fiber, 20 sugar. My fitness pal has been a great tool for me in keeping track of those. Everytime something goes in my mouth, it gets logged on my fitness pal. I have learned I have to be very strict with it, or I will forget to add something. A bite here and a bite there, adds up to calories that can affect your loss.

    For The Slow Losers

    GREAT post!! It is always so very comforting to know that you're not the only one in the self-described "slow loser" category. Your post really shed some sunshine on my day and will help me in the times that I'm feeling down about not seeing a loss on the scale. Thank you and God bless!!

    Sleeved Three Days Post Op

    So happy to see that smiling little face on here today!!! Sorry to hear that you are having a hard time, just take it as easy as you can but just keep sipping!!! Remember when you get down, how far you've come....You are finally sitting on the losers bench girl!!! Everyday will get easier. I will continue to pray for your quick recovery and that things go well. Try not to worry about leaks and such, you are going to be just fine!!

    Ct Scan Normal! Yay! Pre Op Diet.

    So happy to hear that you got the "all clear"!!! Now, you're going through the biggest challenge, but you can do it girl!! Just keep praying and take it one day at a time!!! You will get there and keep your eye on the prize. You're not going to have any complications, you're young and healthy and in God's favor...it's all going to turn out just fine!! Keep us posted!!
