Hmm, the name looks the same to me. Has anyone tried sending a PM?
  2. You'll get there. Give you body time to adjust to the changes. Good luck and don't give up!

    2 Weeks Post Op

Congratulations to all of you! This is the payoff for all the hard work and taking this step. Keep it up!
  4. I'm still preop and I know everyone says your tastes change but I've been trying a bunch of different brands. I really like About Time and Syntrax. To me, Chike has an artificial taste and its almost twice the calories of the others. Their ingredient list is also a bit offputting. I think I'm going to go with About Time because they don't add a lot of "stuff" to it. I'm going to get chocolate, vanilla and unflavored then doctor them up woth sf syrups, extracts, etc. For me, it doesn't make sense to buy a bunch of different flavors. Check out the nutrion forum. There is a pinned thread there on sources for Protein samples. Good luck!

    Egd Tomorrow Morming

I love Sonic ice too! I plan on buying a bag right before surgery to help stay hydrated and to have something to chew on.
  6. From my experience with other surgical procedures, you have to pay the surgeon's fee up front. Most hospitals will work out a payment plan for your share of the charges. They will expect some kind of down payment before surgury. For example, I paid a $500 deposit for gallbladder surgery and they billed me for the rest.

    Surgery Date May 15

Yeah, don't listen to anyone who's not supportive. I don't think anyone comes to this decision lightly. And maybe you'll replace eating with exercising, gardening or something else that's healthy. Yes, relationships will probabkly change. But hopefully for the better. Take care and good luck on Tuesday!

    Waiting For Myvsg Date

Good luck to both of you! Hope to be joining you in two months.
  15. You can definitely substitute Splenda.
  16. So no flour at all? Interesting. I might try making these with PB2. That would drastically drop the calories and fat. Thanks!

    Stretching My Pouch

I'm sorry you're having a tough time of it. Have you contacted your surgeon's office to see if there is a support group in your area? If not, keep coming here. Everyone who's posting here seem very supportive. Good luck.

They have those fajita strips at Walmart also. I freakin' love them!

    Come On Unjury Wth?

That kind of sucks. Something bad probably happens to the sauce when it's exposed to high temperatures so they don't ship it out during the summer months. I was wondering about the sauce myself.

    Should I? !?!

Good luck, Nanny! I know its tough to quit but its your health and safety we're talking about.

    What To Do?

I'm in the same boat as you. My insurance doesn't stipulate if my BMI is based on my beginning weight or ending. If I lose another 15 pounds, I'll be below their 40 BMI level. If your surgeon's office has experience with your insurance company, ask the insurance coordinator. The one at my surgeon's office has been great. Otherwise, you may want to call your insurance company directly and get clarification. You're usually better off asking to speak to someone about bariatrics benefits as sometimes the general CSR's don't have a lot of knowledge. Good luck!
  22. I think it's good to know what to expect ahead of time. First, they start and IV and take your vitals. They'll roll you into a procedure room with your doctor, the anesthesiologist and a nurse or assistant. They had me turn on my left side but i was also having a colonoscopy at the same time so you may just be on your back. They should put an oxygen tube in your nose. The worst part for me (because I have a bit of claustrophobia) was when they put this bit thing in my mouth. You bite down on it and they strap it around your head. It's to prevent damage to your teeth and the camera. Then they turn on the happy juice and you're out like a light! You'll wake up in a recovery area and should be discharged in an hour or so. A couple of days after I started getting a sore throat. It felt like my glands were swollen. Found out the anesthesiologist had to perform something called a jaw thrust several times. Every time I was under enough to let them get the scope down I would stop breathing. So if you have trouble with sleep apnea, keep in mind that you may wind up with some soreness as well. Otherwise, you should feel fine a few hours after the procedure. You may be a bit sleepy from the anesthesia but you should feel 100% by the morning. Good luck with the procedure and your surgery!
  23. So you were really full of the spirit, huh? Thanks for the laugh.
