    Here We Go!

    Good luck! You'll do great.
  2. Good luck to all of your tomorrow. Irishmamma, I would definitely recommend personal wipes and Neosporin! That bowel prep kit does not play.

And play on a swing. I've missed that feeling of freedom that comes from swinging back and forth.
  4. I know this question was for KZBen, but I thought I'd put my two cents worth in. For me, there just seemed like a whole lot of ingredients that others don't. I assume those ingredients make up the extra calories. But like someone else said, you're not going to be in danger of taking in too many calories right off so if you like the taste, that's the most important thing. I guess that's why there are so many brands to choose from. Different strokes for different folks!

Furby, that's so funny! I mean, I'm sorry you got scared but now that you're safe, that's a great story.

I want to zip line. I've wanted to do it for years but was too fat.

    Not Sure...

I haven't had the surgery yet but I know I have to do this. So far I don't have too many health issues but I know its just a matter of time. My daughter has MS and even though she's doing pretty well right now, I know I need to be as healthy as possible so that I can stick around long enough if she does eventually need more help. Losing the weight is for both me and my child.
  9. Congratulations on getting your date. It certainly wouldn't hurt anything to start now. Good luck!
  10. I don't think Shoe_Vixen was trying to make anyone feel bad about not telling people. She started her post with the word personally so that's how I took her post - as her personal opinion. I've started to share my plans with family because, frankly I'm excited and tend to get obsessive about things like this. It's definitely a personal choice who you tell or even if you choose to share with no one.

    Month Two Of Six.

I'm doing the same thing. I've been able to shave a month of when I originally started because my PCP is willing to fill out the necessary form using my physical in January as the start of my diet. He was sleeved last year so he's really supportive. A lot of people get frustrated about this requirement but I think if you look at it as a ramp up period to make the necessary adjustments (not drinking while eating, upping protein, cutting out caffeine, carbs and sugar, etc.), you'll be much better prepared than if you could go in tomorrow and have the surgery. Fortunately, we're all in this together. Hang in there and the time will fly!
  12. There's a great thread that's stickied on the part of the forum. It has a lot of posts about what to bring and not bring. There's also a Word doc you can print off. Good stuff!

    So Tired Of Hearing...

Its funny how people feel they are entitled to weigh in on such a personal decision. If you were having heart bypass surgery, they probably wouldn't question it for a second. Even my sister, who's incredibly supportive, said I've lost weight in the past so why couldn't I just try to diet again. But she's coming around thankfully.
  16. This may sound like an odd question but will doctors perform surgeries fairly close together? Until this year, the only operations I've had as an adult were c-sections. My gallbladder was removed in February and that met my maximum out of pocket expense on my insurance. So, I'm trying to fit in as many things as possible since they won't cost me any more money. I'm already in the middle of meeting insurance requirements in order to get the sleeve. I've also started the process of getting my deviated septum repaired (ah, to breathe again!) I'd like to get them both done in the next few months (June/July/August). Has anyone here had multiple procedures done in that kind of time frame? Were you advised to wait for a specific amount of time before going under again? I did very well in both my gallbladder surgery and endoscopy/colonoscopy (except for stopping breathing a few times!) other than violent nausea from the pain meds.
  17. Thanks! I really would like to get these done in the summer as I've been taking classes and don't want the recovery process to interfere with that.

    Just Got My Surgery Date!

    Congratulations!
  21. Welcome! We're neighbors, since I live in Garland. I know you can't have polish on your fingers because that's one of the ways they check to make sure you're getting enough oxygen. Not sure about on your toes. Maybe get a French pedicure? Carbonated drinks are anything that has bubbles - soft drinks, fizzy Water, beer, tonic water, etc. Gatorade, Propel, juices, etc. are safe as far as carbonation is concerned. Good luck and keep us posted!

    Tomorrow Is The Big Day!

Man, I wish my sister's insurance covered this so we could do it together as well. Is your sister also on the board? Good luck to both of you tomorrow.
