    Depressed

Sorry you're going through this. I had the six month requirement as well. Believe it or not, the time does really go quickly! I've got my fifth appointment next week so I'm about 5-6 weeks away from getting a date. Take this time to work on the things that you'll need to do post-op (not drinking during meals, eating small bites, chewing thoroughly, etc.) It helps me feel like I'm making forward progress. I was just talking to my cousin at lunch today and told her I was actually happy to have this six month period to prepare myself mentally for my new life. You'll get there, just hang on!

    Been Awhile..

Good luck, Tiffanni! You'll do fine. It's great that you're making the changes you need to in order to be successful. I would think working at a fast food place post-op would be like working in a crack den for an ex-junkie!
  4. I eat both the steak and chicken fajita products now. I'm so glad they will probably still work for me once I'm sleeved!

    Watermelon

Wow, interesting that something that's almost all water can still cause you to feel overfull. Good to know since I absolutely love watermelon. I'll definitely take it easy post-op.

    Straw Drinking?

Take care of yourself, Reet! If you have outdoor plans, you're going to need to drink even more.

    Pain

Yay, Jimmy! So glad you're home. Hope you get back to 100% very soon.
  8. Hey, Barb! Welcome. I don't know how many responses you'll get in pre-op. You might try reporting in the post-op thread. You can also do a search for something like "would you do it again"? I know I've seen at least two different threads like that. Good luck on your Quest.

    Approved!

    Congratulations!

    Dairy Allergy?

I've been doing a lot of research into Protein and noticed there are soy and vegan protein powders out there. I haven't tried them as I have no problem with dairy at the moment. I found them in high end grocery and health food stores (Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe, etc.) You might want to try one of these. I do know that Vitamin Shoppe and GNC will let you return anything you don't like. Plus Vitamin Shoppe has a free club card that gives you money back based on how much you spend. Lots of luck!

    Seriously People?

I think this should be a forum where everyone can express their opinions, even if everyone doesn't agree. LadyIvy did bring a good point. There is a lot of redundancy on here. But of course, each of us feel that we're the only one going through a particularly tough time. It's human nature. And I'm glad to know there is a place for ranting (there's always a place for ranting! ) I've seen a few passive aggressive posts (my family is fluent in pa) and those they kind of manipulated supportive replies that way. Did it frustrate me? Heck yeah! But that's just how these people are. LadyIvy, keep posting. You've shared some really great insights in the past. And I guess I'll meet you over at the r&r!

    Scared Of Operation

Operations and hospitals can be very scary. You're letting someone else have control of your body. But it will be over so quickly and you'll be so happy you did this. Keep your eye on the prize!

    Psych Eval

I would guess that means they want to have you do some written tests. They take about an hour or so to complete, then the psychologist goes over it with you. My daughter did this a few years ago to get a diagnosis of OCD and it cost me about $300 with insurance! Good luck! I have my psych eval on the 14th so hopefully that will be one of the last steps to getting ready to be sleeved.
  14. You're welcome! I copied the whole thing and threw it into a Word doc.

Can I Use An Artificial Sweetener?

I'm pretty sure there are store brands of Truvia available. Just look for stevia on the label.

  19. Yay for pooping! I'm sorry you're going through this, Wheetsin. Hang in there. I have faith that your next visit will show you've broken the stall.

    One Week Away!

Congratulations! I'm still a couple of months away so I always have a mix of happiness and envy whenever anyone posts about their date. You'll do great. There's a pinned thread somewhere on the board called frequently asked questions and it goes over how to get your ticker working. Or you can put "ticker" into the search field. Good luck!

    Magnesium Citrate

Good luck with this! As I advise anyone doing the bowel prep, make sure you have personal wipes (with aloe!) and Neosporin. It will help!

    On My Way!

Yay Tibbie! Good luck and let us know how you do.
  23. I'm sorry you had a complication. Praying you're better quickly.

    Advice ?!?!

If you think the pain was gall bladder related, I would recommend getting it checked out. A lot of sleevers wind up getting them removed due to the change in diet, quick weight loss, etc. If the gallbladder is bad, they can remove it while you're getting sleeved. Don't fool around with that, it can land you in the er.
