Finding Myself

I have not been sleeved yet but have started my supplements in prep. I take the chewable Celebrate multi vitamin and the Celebrate Calcet lemon cream creamy bites which were recommended by someone else on here - they are great! Like eating a little treat! Not sure how I'll handle any of these post op but for now they are some of the better vitamins I've taken.

The orange flavor, but it doesn't really taste like orange. But it's good. Thick, but good. I have a vitamin shot glass that has 1 and 2 oz measurements on it and it's really easy to get 2 oz down (since that's about all your body is able to handle in the first place).

I hope it's good because whey protein is really gross to me! LOL

Sweet!!!!!! Today is the first day that I've felt truly excited about this!!! I'm focusing on 6 months from now when I go on my family vacation, hopefully approx 30 lbs lighter!

I would be curious to know which doctors in Mexico were tied to the patients with the leaks.

I've been texting Omar this evening and he is pretty awesome and trying hard to straighten things out! I am confirmed for June 14! Very excited!

Jeanie I am probably the biggest stress monkey on these boards. I'm not an MD, but I'm a veterinarian, and I do a LOT of abdominal surgery on MY patients. I understand the procedure and the healing and how complications occur, etc. Making a good decision is hard for me because of what I do myself.... and honestly, I finally just decided to make this decision based on patient referral. And I cannot find a lot of negative comments about Dr. Kelly from his patients. That means the most to me. I know there is a lot of drama but ALL DOCTORS have complications at some point in their career, they ALL have PR issues, etc etc. So word of mouth and patient referral is what matters to me. Dr. K is having some PR issues and does not have the organization that some of the other doctors have but his patients seem to do great, have a great experience and are doing well months down the road. This is what I am focusing on. Stay in touch, I am hoping we can get a small group of Kelly patients to keep up with each other!!! Also PLEASE if on Facebook, join his page because we can chat a lot there too!!!!

So a question I'd like to pose to the boards.... We are all looking to find the right doctor for ourselves. The best piece of advice I have been given is to make sure you are not "booted out the door" after surgery, meaning you get a good surgery but no follow up - sparse information on diet, little communication post op, etc etc. I'd like to hear other's experiences post op as well as what some of you feel about this pre-op. I don't want someone to hand me a few copies of some diet and then send me home without explicit instructions. None of us should be relying on a message board for our post op info! (even tho this board is fantastic!!!) Thoughts?

Thanks L. Yes I am still working on June 14, Omar will confirm that for me next week. I don't mean to sound grumpy, it's just that this is a very big decision and I hate drama! I cant keep changing my mind. .

Everyone, I know you all have your own loyalties to whomever, but it really doesn't help any of the rest of us to bash anybody involved. There are two sides to EVERY story, no matter what. Omar had his very own story to tell me today. I won't share it here because it doesn't matter. I really only care that I get good care and a good surgeon. The coordinator isn't cutting my stomach out, no matter how nice she is. Please help us all focus on that publicly, and take negativity to private comments where possible. I know I personally would appreciate that because all it does it make me more anxious and nervous about this decision.
