I need some help... My surgery is scheduled for May 15th. I decided that I better tell those close to me as they will find out when I am loosing lots of weight and eating only protein etc... But now I am second guessing if this is the right choice. I am BMI 37 since having my twins 10 months ago. Before that I was bt 31-33 bmi. My husband thinks it is so risky to get this done and I am jeopardizing my long term health. He thinks in 15 years the sleeve will no longer be the next best thing just like lapband turned out to be. Maybe he is right. Maybe I can loose the weight on my own. I don't know. Is the surgery just a cop out for me? Please tell me if these are normal feelings. I go back and forth. Maybe I can do it on my own/ maybe I can't.

Help! Having Second Thoughts.
luvrkb replied to luvrkb's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I gave tried and tried too... Just to feel more depressed that I am powerless to food. I have lost weight before, and I have on the high side of a normal weight. I have all my life wanted desperately to be thin. Now it is more. I am happily married and have 3 kids. I am scared to do anything to jeopardize my life, but right now am tired all the time. I am not able to keep up with my kids. I am that fat mom that plays board games with the kids. I want to play softball or soccer! It is humbling to need this surgery and I am having a hard time relinquishing control that I can not do it alone! -

Thank you for taking the time to write this out. I will print and use frequently. -
Def call, but just to put ur mind at ease- signs of infection are skin is hot to the touch, redness around the wound, smelly yellowish green discharge and swelling. Clear and milky discharge is normal.

Thank you! I have to remember that in a year I will feel more normal.

My mind is playing tricks on me!!! I am having my surgery on may 15th. My mind is wanting to eat everything I see in fear of never being able to eat it again! I keep thinking that if I try to diet one more time that I won't have to cut my stomach out. I know it is just my addiction trying to sabotage me. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Anxious For Surgery Date But Nervous
luvrkb replied to betterthanbefore's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think everyone feels this way. It is a drastic thing we are doing and that's scary, but it will all be worth it. -
So This Might Be Gross But...
luvrkb replied to iHeartNettie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think it's weird at all. I actually think its a great way to satiate your need for citrus without the digestive part. I agree to check with your nutritionist, but I am sure she hears this all the time. -
Dumping Syndrome
luvrkb replied to realwmnhavcurvs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't think you get dumping with the sleeve. Did ur surgeon think this was ok? -
Joyce- he is one of the developers of the sleeve surgery. My father in law had one of his first surgeries almost 5 years ago and lost 250#. He is highly skilled.

I use Carlson liquid fish oil. It is at health food stores, or amazon. -
Ok, give me the low down. I already have thin hair, am I going to be bald? Is it the same type of hair loss that you get after having a baby?

Omg!!! My father in law had his surgery by him in freehold. He used to be in NYC and is one of the sleeve pioneers. You are really lucky to get him for this price!!!!!
