    Best/worst

Worst/Hardest: The irrational fears of failing. I know that I would NEVER fail with this tool coz I'm pretty much an obedient patient and follow EVERYTHING my doc says. But at times I have this fear that I may not lose as much as I and my doc expect. Best: I have asthma but for the past two months I haven't once used my asthalin inhaler!! I'm able to walk and climb stairs without needing my inhaler!

    Hungry

Congrats on your WLS! Wising you a speedy recovery and success in your weight loss journey! That waiting period is to allow your sleeve to heal enough to accept solid food. My doc wanted me to be on clear liquid diet for first two weeks, then full liquid diet for next two weeks and mushed and soft solids for week 4 to 8. I can start solid diet only after week 8.

    Apprehensive

Welcome to the forum! This place is awesome! I wouldnt have had such confidence going into the surgery if not for this place. Ofcourse I did some good research but this place is like having your own cheat sheet LOL. I dont even post the q's directly, I just search for the info and it turns up in many topics

  10. Congrats! And all the best for your surgery and speedy recovery!
  11. I had two stalls within the first 4 weeks too. I was freaking out and then read here that most have these stalls early. And I dont really think we can do something to break the stall. So dont worry, you'll surely move past this soon. All the best!
  12. Glad to hear that! Take care of yourself and good luck with the weight loss!
  13. Congrats! You guys are black belt LOSERS!! I wish I was a fast loser too - but I tend to lose slowly. But I'm not worried much. Coz though it has been a bit slow, I do see gradual weight loss and I'm more and more confident that I will be able to lose a considerable amount of weight this year and reach goal atleast next year!

    Stupid Question...

LOL the first thing I noticed before joining the site are the tickers! And then I searched in the forums for instructions to get one - there are many posts that instruct how to get a ticker.
  15. AWESOME! Congrats on your NSV!
  16. Aww I feel so bad you had to go through that! Mean people are everywhere. You cant beat yourself up everytime you cross paths with one. A lot of bad habits start because of peer pressure than any other reason. But it is a great thing that you've learned so much from that experience. I know we all have reasons to not let others know that we've had surgery. That's our personal business, right? And it is good that you had a wonderful support from your friend. Dont worry! All will be fine. And best of luck in your weight loss journey!

  20. Hi, I will be starting solid food in 2 weeks (YAY!). And I need your valued opinion on some stuff. I want to try some food but I want to know if I'll get in the required amount of Proteins with these items. 1) Many have commented that they eat cottage cheese for Protein. I love cottage cheese but I'm a bit skeptical about it because of the fat content. I know there are some low-fat brands but I dont get many options in India. So, do you think it is advisable to have regular cottage cheese? How many grams of protein do you think it has in, say, 3 one inch cubes (coz that is what I think I can handle for a day with my sleeve LOL) 2) I rarely eat non-vegetarian food. I only take eggs regularly. So I'm out of touch eating chicken though I used to LOVE it in my school days. I'm planning to start eating chicken when I start solid food. Now, I was wondering how many pieces I'll be able to eat for a meal and how much protein I'll get from it. I know everyone has a diff capacity but I just want to get a rough idea. 3) Some say they eat peanuts, roasted soybeans etc. I'm again skeptical about these because of the fats. Your opinion pls... I welcome any other suggestions from you. I want to have a protein rich diet when I start the solid phase coz I haven't really been able to get as much protein as required till now. Though I'm making sure my food is low carb and low calories, I havent been concentrating on proteins. I just take 1 protein mix a day (20 gms protein), 2 egg whites (6.5 gms protein), lentils and pulses 2 times daily (10 gms protein), milk twice daily (3 gms protein). I barely get in 40 gms of proteins a day. Though I dont have any complications I really dont want to mess up because of my carelessness. PS: What do you think is the healthy amount of fat and carbs that I can take in a day?
  21. Thank you very much for the reply, Swizzly! Right now, my food is totally fat-free. So I dont think I'll have any problems with the cottage cheese. But I just wanted to check with people here so that I dont mess up my weight loss

    Frustrated

Wow can we really do that? What should I do to 'confuse' my body? I haven't been very religious about working out. I haven't hit a gym yet. I'll be starting at a gym after my 8th week. I just walk for like an hour or 90 mins. I just wanted to know about this in advance

  24. Wow! You look awesome! Congrats on this amazing success!!
  25. Yogurt and honey? Sounds interesting. I'll have to try that. And I totally understand what you say about sweets. I dont really have any craving for sweets but pre-op I used to eat chocolates atleast twice a week!
