3 Week Stall ( Frustrated)
VJSlim replied to tonyrizz's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
The third week stall happens to almost everyone. I had that stall too. For like 10 days or so. Dont worry. It will pass and you'll start losing pretty fast. -
My Nsv From My Doctor!
VJSlim replied to SleeveDreamer's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Awesome! Bet you did your happy dance right there! LOL Congrats! -
That is a huge accomplishment! Congrats! Sooooo happy for you!
-
Oh no you are not. Trust me! The stall will pass soon enough and the weight will start to drop. I'm more than 3 months out now, and hit my 3rd stall a week back. I have come to realize that this stuff happens all through our weight loss journey. After my second stall I promised myself that I'm not going to add to my agony by weighing every 3 days. Now I weigh every week or 10 days. If you weigh very often, try weighing just weekly.

Social Meals With Work/family
VJSlim replied to nabird77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I go out, I usually get either of these: 1. Cream of tomato or vegetables soup 2. Grilled chicken or chicken tikka with very little oil(it is a famous Indian dish - you can google for recipes) 3. Paneer tikka (Paneer is Indian cottage cheese - you can make it at home. There are some delicious recipes on youtube) 4. Stir fry tofu 5. Cheese omelets Sad thing is, I can only have around 2 to 3 oz. But now, I'm enjoying the talking rather than wolfing down whatever is on the table LOL -

3 Years Or More Post Op...memory Changes?
VJSlim replied to betterthanbefore's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read that it was because of Vitamin deficiency. As long as we take our vitamin meds regularly, I dont think it would be a problem. But I'm going to ask my doc about this during my next visit. I'm scared now! http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/03/070312161244.htm -
What Do You Eat Now That You Didn't Eat Before Surgery?
VJSlim replied to Lissa's topic in Food and Nutrition
I've been a vegetarian for more than 8 years, but after surgery, to meet my protein reqmts, I have started eating fish and chicken. Fish has become my fav source of protein. -
Oh the lady also has a great collection of vegetarian recipes with paneer (thick cottage cheese). You could try browsing her channel. I have tried many of her recipes and I LOVE them!!
-
I used to be a vegetarian for more than 8 years, but I could not meet my Protein reqmts with just veg food. So I take chicken or fish now, atleast 3 times a week. BUT, most of my daily food is still vegetarian. And Tofu is my staple dish. I like this recipe very much: Not sure if you would like the sweet and sour taste. But if you like chinese, I think you'll like this. PS: go light on the oil. I use only 1 tbsp to fry the tofu.

LOL! I loved reading this! Congrats on your NSV!!

Stomach Size 1 Year Out..
VJSlim replied to Dizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
M2G - thanks for your reply. I was wondering about that myself. At 3 months post op, I have begun to realize that I can eat a bit more than I used to when I started solids. But not the dense food. I can eat fish and dosa (crepes made out of ground lentils and rice, Indian breakfast dish) easily. But chicken - not so easy. -
You have done GREAT! Congrats on the amazing weight loss! All the best to you for reaching your goal soon and maintaining it!
-
I'm so happy for you!! Congrats on all the beautiful victories that have come your way! I wish you all success in your life and this journey!

I agree with retired-loser. At the beginning, it was just too hard for me to go out for dinner. I stayed at home. I scheduled one chore or other during meal times. I thought it would be hard to convince my family that I REALLY did not need to be around and just mope around during the meal times coz I was not allowed to eat anything. But they understood that I was fighting head hunger all the time and were very supportive. The first time that I went out for meals after surgery was very recently -- well into my third month. But now, I enjoy going out all the time, coz I know what I can eat that will not bring any setbacks in my journey. You'll also learn what works for you and what doesnt. But give it some time. I hope you enjoy the benifits of having this amazing tool and have a successful weight loss!!
