I saw some great Snacks idea at eggface's website the other day. You could maybe try some of those? http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.in/2009/11/healthier-oatmeal-cookies.html I swear I would have been lost without her. Shelly = !!!

Even at 4 months post op, I get acid reflux every now and then. If I have not eaten anything for a long time or if I eat something too spicy. My family is from South India and our food is generally very spicy, and I'm having a hard time letting go of that damned chilli powder

I drink regular coffee only. Twice a day. Less than 100ml each time.
-
I'm quite thankful that I LOVE my coffee even post-op. I was a chocolate addict but post-op I cant stomach chocolates. Now, I dont miss chocolate much, but I cant imagine a life without coffee!!

The "infamous" Question, "so How Much Have You Lost?"
VJSlim replied to former_vbg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh wow! I'm going to convert the number into some other metric. I dont really mind saying the actual number, but this way sounds so much fun! Let them google it out LOL! -
Most Excited About...
VJSlim replied to kellythestarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on your engagement!! I cant wait to wear tight clothes. I always wear those baggy stuff because I was very uncomfortable with tight clothes. My belly and back was too big. But I have lost more than 50lbs now and can see changes visibly. So happy!!!! -
Awesome! 8lbs in one week is amazing! Nancy - I know what you mean! My sister and cousins have also started being serious with carb counting and limiting fat. My cousin who is away from home for college called me at around 8PM on Saturday. She wanted to go out for dinner with her friends, but she wanted me to tell her what I would order if I had been there. I said grilled chicken and some Soup. She called me on Sunday and told me that she had ordered just that, and she loved the food and didnt feel hungry later. She said she is going to visit a nutritionist and have a diet plan designed for her. Many people in my family and office have said that I have inspired them to take serious steps towards a healthy life style. 5 months ago, that would be a laughable statement. Today, I can accept that statement with pride and I'm so in love with my sleeve!

The problem is, I live in India, and I can only order stuff from ebay India or other sites that ship stuff to India. So I have a limited choice. Thankfully, Atkins, Oh Yeah, Quest and Thinkthin are listed on ebay India, so I'm going to try those first! The other items listed are: Muscle Milk High Protein chocolate PB, Next Proteins Protein Bar, Special K Protein Snack Bar, EAS Myoplex Lite Bars, Pure Protein S'mores, Power Crunch High Protein Energy snack, Supreme Protein bar, Luna Protein Chocolate PB, Met-Rx Protein plus Protein Bar chocolate fudge, Optimum nutrition complete diet protein bar, P90X Peak Performance Protein Bars, NuGo organic protein bar, 2:1 protein bar. Have any of you tried any bars on that list? Some are quite costly, and I dont have the option of buying sample packs. So I would like to try and avoid the bad-tasting ones.
-
Awesome! Thank you all so much for the replies! I will be switching to the protein bars soon - the shakes are really boring. I hope I like the bars!!
-
Hi MomScholar - thanks for your reply! I saw ThinkThin White chocolate on ebay - are they good? Or do you have some other flavor?
-
Thank you all for your replies! I was looking for anything with atleast 10g of Protein. And I found Atkins (chocolate chip granola) and Quest (Chocolate PB) on ebay!!

"decent" Tasting Protein Shakes?
VJSlim replied to Delta_35's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I dont have many options where I live, either. And that is so frustrating! Soon after my surgery, my protein source was Optifast VLCD. 19g protein in one serving (46g). And I could get only the vanila flavor. I dont care much for the taste, but I dont really hate it either. If I HAVE to drink a shake, I manage with Optifast. I saw that Click was sold on ebay India. I'm going to order this and try the mocha flavor. -
Time to get rid of the 'fat' jeans

That is a really good idea. I've seen posts where sleevers or those to be sleeved worry that their spouses are not supportive or are very scared. A forum for the spouses can help ease their mind!!

Feeling A Little Discouraged..:(
VJSlim replied to msaprildawn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I experienced the same thing. I was sleeved on Jan 11, and for more than 2.5 months, I did not have any inch loss. Then at the 3rd month, I started losing inches. Now I have lost nearly 16 inches total (in arms, chest, waist and butt combined). So dont worry. You'll see inch loss soon -
When Someone Asks You How Much You Have Lost...
VJSlim replied to AngieG0410's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If I know the person is contemplating surgery, I reply just like you - # pre-op and # since surgery. If they are just curious, I just say an approx number. -
I'm the total opposite in this case. I used to have a bit of an oily skin, but after surgery my skin dries up quite fast and I need a moisturizer. Guess I should see a dermatologist soon.

Amazing transformation!!! Congrats! PS: I LOVE that chin!!
