60 Day Blues...
WhoozisAnyway replied to I WONT MISS ME's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You should be ecstatic! I'm 48 days out and have lost 14 lbs since surgery, 36 total. I've been stalled four out of the six weeks post-surgery. Count your blessings and rock that swimsuit! -
My trouble is that I was losing great on 1200-1500 calories, but the weight loss slowed dramatically and stopped once I went below 1,000 calories post-surgery. I still have almost 100 lbs to lose, so it's not like I'm near goal. I average 700-800 daily right now and have tried to get up to 1,000, but it's practically impossible while still eating healthy. Now that I'm adding exercise into the mix, my net calories are down to almost nothing. This morning I decided that I have to stop stressing about it and just let it go. I took the scale out of the bathroom, I'm going to weigh only once a week.

I think so. I don't understand how others on this forum lose weight so easily on 500-600 calories a day. My loss came to a screeching halt when my calories went down that low. Sent from my iPad using VST

Hit send too soon. Anyway, my NUT is one of those "just keep doing what you're doing" people and I'm not getting much help from her. I have to eat every few hours because I get so little in that if I only ate 3x day, I wouldn't even get 500 calories. I'm exercising, doing everything right, but just feeling frustrated and rather defeated at the moment. Sent from my iPad using VST

I'm so confused about all of this. During my preop diet, the weight fell off me when I kept to a 1200-1500 calorie, high Protein, low carb diet. Now I'm six weeks out and have been in stalls for four out of those six weeks. The weight is coming off verrrrrrrrry slow post op. I've been trying to up my calories to 1000-1200 to get out of starvation mode, but it's a real struggle Sent from my iPad using VST

Started at a tight 40DD, 37 lbs down and I'm a comfy 38DD. The last time I was thin I was a 36 B/C. Mine have always been dense and in need of support. I think the last time I was at my current weight I was in a C/D cup, so I'm not sure what will happen. I will probably not be a B again but who knows? Sent from my iPad using VST

Finally! Stall Is Broken.

You have been my inspiration as well, and your journey is what got my fanny in gear to join a gym this week. Thanks for being a great cheerleader and showing us newbies what success looks like! Sent from my iPad using VST -
I had hiatal hernia repair at the same time as my VSG. The recovery food restrictions if I had just hernia repair is about the same, so that's what I told people whom i didn't want to know about the VSG. I'm 5 weeks out and so far my story works - and it wasn't a lie. Sent from my iPad using VST

No Longer Hot? Omg This Is Awesome!
WhoozisAnyway replied to WhoozisAnyway's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well, tonight was my first time at the gym in many years. I DID sweat, but it was just normal, exercising sweaty. Before, I would have been drenched and dizzy. This kind of sweat I can handle! Sent from my iPad using VST -

This Bill I Got In The Mail Is Bugging Me
WhoozisAnyway replied to Missmarbe's topic in Insurance & Financing
Yikes! I had to fight with my insurance this week, which is unusual because so far they've been great. My hospital EOB said I would owe an additional $500, when I called BCBSIL they said I was being penalized for not calling pre cert just before surgery. However, I HAD called. Luckily my phone log showed the date/time, with that info they"suddenly" found my call and removed the penalty. Frankly I'm shocked the hospital bill is that high to begin with. That's almost $20k over my EOB. Sent from my iPad using VST -

Lissa, that must be what I read too. I just can't find the article again. I can't tell you how happy this makes me feel. This will almost be a bigger life changer than the weight loss. Sent from my iPad using VST -

Slow loser here too, but you look fantastic and it sure looks like you've lost more! I just broke a two week stall where I lost no weight at all, but still dropped a full dress size. Betting you will have a similar experience! Sent from my iPad using VST -
Dropping The Dairy In Desperation!
WhoozisAnyway replied to CrazyCatLady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
As someone who has suffered from extreme lactose intolerance for many years . . . I FEEL YOUR PAIN!! You are handling it exactly the right way. Go completely off dairy for a few weeks, then try to reintroduce tiny amounts of lactose free dairy one at a time and see how you do. 20+ years out from my diagnosis, I can have yogurt and cheese occasionally. Since the VSG process began however, I discovered that the whey Protein drinks break me out in hives on my face, neck and chest. The yogurt and cheese does not give me hives. Go figure. You'll have to find out exactly what your body will and will not tolerate. Oh, and as to eggs - I had a terrible reaction to a scrambled egg a few weeks ago, but soft poached eggs have been no problem at all. I found a tiny "one egg" poaching pan at WalMart that has worked well for me. Good luck to you! -

Trouble With Eggs Post-Op?
WhoozisAnyway replied to Bubbaloo10's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Soft poached eggs were no problem for me, but a scrambled egg left me miserable for 12+ hours. Sent from my iPad using VST -
Thanks for the info! I'm still on mushies and Protein drinks, might try adding some into my Protein Drink. Juice seems to aggravate my reflux right now. Sent from my iPad using VST

At two weeks out I went to Happy Hour with friends and ordered cranberry juice. The bartender made me a vodka cranberry instead - and a strong one. I didn't realize the mistake. One sip and let me tell you that sucker burned all the way down! At three weeks I had a sip of frozen strawberry margarita and it didn't bother me at all. When you do start, start weak and start slow, and stay away from carbonated mixers or beer. Sent from my iPad using VST
