I was banded by Dr. Huacuz in TJ last July and was extremely impressed with the service and care. A friend came with me and had a room for free at the clinic to be close to me. I researched the issue of fills before I made my decision and was thrilled to have a dr here in Whitehorse available to do fills. I have had 5 fills to date and she has shown me how to do it myself if I wanted to be independent. It really is simple as tecnically you're giving yourself a needle. So, your aftercare availability will probably be the criteria for choosing which dr to go to. Good luck.

Hi Renee I'm leaving for Mexico next Thursday !!! I'll be visiting with a friend for a few days and then have surgery with Dr. Huacuz on Tuesday the 17th. I'm soooo excited. I have done all my research and I'm very confident that this is the right place for me. Lynn

Andree - could you give me an update on your 'fight' with the system? I live in Whitehorse and phoned the Health Dept. a few weeks ago to inquire re funding etc and altho the answer was still no, she did say that she was getting alot of inquiries. Maybe if we all banded together (what a pun!!), we could get something happening!! For now, I'm waiting for my passport and then will go to Mexico to get it done. Lynn
