Happy 1Yr Surgiversary To Me!
DDFinn replied to mamamckinzie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You look YEARS younger!! -
I was sure this was not going to happen to me since I have had such an easy time of it..then came month 4, lol. I do have long hair and I started taking Biotin right after my surgery. My hair loss is not noticeable to anyone but me, but I do notice! I have to clean out my hairbrush about every other day. It really needs to be colored too but I'm afraid to stress it out at all. I'm just trying to be gentle with it, get my protein, take my vitamins and wait it out. I'm down 51lbs so i will deal with it.

Eat What You Want In Moderation Or No?
DDFinn replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to say that I eat what I want to. The things I want to eat have just changed! I really no longer crave all the junk. I did just have a small piece of pizza and it was good Usually I do make good choices because i love my sleeve and want to treat it well! -
That made me sad! I went to Dr Kelly a month after her and watched all her videos before my surgery. I'm sorry that she is struggling. She is such a beautiful girl. I can't wait until her next check in. I bet she will do great.

DDFinn replied to WhoozisAnyway's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look so pretty! I'm hoping to get to -50 this week! -
I arrived the evening before and stayed at the hospital. They woke me up about 6:30 am for pre-op tests and i was in surgery at 10. I stayed 2 more nights, then off to the hotel for 2 nights.

? For Dr. Ponce's Patients
DDFinn replied to sid_n_reagans_mommy's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I have to agree that the post surgery diet information was pretty lacking for me. I was sleeved by Dr Kelly and Trish was my coordinator. I googled post sleeve diet and found a few great guides from some US bariatric centers. -
Tears of joy! Why are my emotions tied so closely to my weight??? I got on the scale today and it said 179! The last time i remember being happy with myself was almost 15 years ago when i was in the 170s. Still have 30lbs to goal but feeling so positive. I think my mom would be so proud of me!

Thank you guys  . I'm so happy I made the decision to have the surgery. Best thing I ever did for myself and my family.

I had my gallbladder out last July and sleeve surgery with Dr Kelly in march. I didn't think to ask either but my sleeve incisions were much higher. I even have one right on the bra line between my breasts!
-
I am not going to weigh myself "officially" until tomorrow morning but it looks like I most likely lost only 6 lbs for the entire month. I was sleeved on 3/9. On the positive side, I am finally in onederland (and I ain't leavin'). My total weight loss is 28 lbs. Very happy for the fast losers....but....green with envy!lol

Is Keeping The Secret Possible?
DDFinn replied to Nikki613's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not only didn't I tell my work (took vacation time) I didn't tell anyone but my husband, my sister (who was sleeved the same day) and my sisters husband. I went to Mexico and everyone thinks I was in San Diego on vacation. I'm 3 months post op, down 42 lbs, and just tell anyone who asks, I'm counting calories and exercising (true). -
Cost Of Vsg In Mexico
DDFinn replied to AutumnPunkin's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Wow! Its not brain surgery! Spend what you can afford and don't assume your choice is any better than the next persons. Its a little crazy for someone who is preop to paint themselves as an expert. Too funny! -
I think I finally may have found the "sweet spot"! I've lost 6.5 in the last 2 weeks. I might actually be in the 180's in the next week or so. It's been at least 10 years since I have been under 190! I upped my calories to 700. Try to exercise a few times a week and log EVERYTHING on myfitnesspal. If I eat 1 cheese puff, I log it! I'd love to lose 40 more lbs (maybe more) so I hope this keeps up for a while!

This Is Finally Becoming Real!
DDFinn replied to cissiesue's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
You will do great. I had surgery with Dr Kelly in march and have never had a second of regret. My sister also got sleeved the same day right after me and is also doing great. Its a new experience to get out your summer clothes and nothing fits. But because it's too big instead of too small!!! Good luck! -
This Is Just So Frustrating! Doctor Selection....
DDFinn replied to Sarah35's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't think you can make a bad choice in Mexico. All of the doctors there have alot of experience! Remember just because a doctor charges more it doesn't mean he's better than the others. The price is really dependant on what the facility charges. I went to Dr Kelly and had a great experience, my sister and I booked together and got a great price. I'm sure we would have done fine with whoever we chose. I'm glad I didn't spend more than I needed to. Good Luck -
My sister used them for her surgery with Dr Kelly. The interest rate is a little high but she hasn't had any problems with them.

March Sleevers..are You Happy W/your Progress?
DDFinn replied to DDFinn's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It does get very depressing when you are eating so little and incredibly....the scale doesn't move! Thankfully I seem to be losing again, but slowly. I am 10 wks out and down about 36 lbs. I would love it to be faster, and more but it is what it is. -
The Hardest Diet I Never Went On
DDFinn replied to FluffyBleu76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The best advice I have gotten here (maybe from Lissa?) was to under eat your sleeve. That's my goal now at every meal. When I don't, I pay for it. You made a great decision for yourself! I get such a kick out of people who think this is the "easy" way. What idiots!lol
