Diarrea After Every Meal, Please Help!

I too have to avoid Splenda and lactose. I finally found a Protein shake I like and it contains milk, so I spread it out over the day and it doesn't make me sick. Getting sleeved was like hitting the "Reset" button on my whole system...if I were you, I would call my Dr. And let him/her help find relief! Sent from my iPhone using VST
  4. I woke up in recovery in achy pain. I opened my eyes, looked at the nurse & said "Hurt!". She said, "Hun, I have something for you right now." she pushed a button & I went back to blissful sleep...my surgery took 45 min, so it was around 9am when I first woke up. I woke up the second time at 2:15am in my private room! No pain, no catheter, just an IV. I got up, made peepee, rinsed out my mouth & went back to bed after hitting my morpheine button-pain pumps come around rarely in my life, so I made FULL use of mine! Lol! I had a great experience, no nausea, no great pain, just mild discomfort at most. The 5th day home, the discomfort came back, but my surgeon had prescribed me liquid hydrocodone, and that did the trick. I'll be 5 weeks post op in 2 days, and I'm sooo happy I was sleeved! I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! Sent from my iPhone using VST

  13. Well, the smallest cup size I even recall wearing as a 4th grader was a c cup! Now I wear a 42 DDD. I just had my sleeve, but I hope my boobs completely disappear! My shoulders & back are tired. I'm sick of carrying all this weight on my shoulders-literally! Whatever is left after I hit goal will be lifted & reduced down to a small c cup. I lost 120 lbs some years ago, and my boobs stayed the same size. If they don't disappear this time, my friendly neighborhood plastic surgeon will snip & clip! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Gallbladder Question

My surgeon investigates the abdominal cavity during any WLS. You have to sign an document giving him permission to remove your gallbladder if needed as well as allowing him to fix anything he finds wrong. Sent from my iPhone using VST

    African American Sleevers

Hello ladies! I am sooo happy to have found this thread this morning! I am AA, 38 years old, and I live in Little Rock, Arkansas. I was sleeved 2/20/12, so I'm finishing up my 3rd week post-op. I've lost 33 lbs so far and have been stalled since last week. I know from reading posts that stalls are typical around this time frame. And my surgeon prepared me for this. I'm just now up to 32oz a day on my water and I'm still struggling with the protein (yuck)! Today, I'm going to Sam's to try out their Premier protein shakes, & I'm gonna drop into GNC & try an Isopure shake. I'm also going to order an Unjury trial kit. Ive invested my health in this sleeve and I'm determined to do whatever I have to! Success is my only option! Lol! I had my hair in tree braids during surgery, I've been natural for 6 years & I alternate between braids & sew-ins. I took my tree braids out a few days ago and the shedding was my normal amount. I have a strained lumbar muscle right now, so I'm unable to sit for a hairstyle, so I'm going to do a short, spiral quick weave myself. I have a big Afro that is very thick, so I'm hoping to not lose hair. I'm working really hard on my protein. I look forward to hearing from all of you. I don't have any issues as far as losing my big body-I was in a Bcup in 4th grade & now I wear a 42 F and after 4 pregnancies & 3 kids, they've been sagging since I was 24! No loss! I want the boobs reduced & lifted to a small C cup after I reach my goal. I also have no love for my big butt, which I believe I was born with! I'm sick & tired of lugging around all these big body parts, I want to be slim, toned & fit! I care absolutely nothing for the man who wanted me to stay "big-boned". I asked him was he going to stay by me if I suffered from the many health related issues that obesity put me at risk for?? Suffice it to say, I'm single now and this journey is all about Me! it's my turn to take control of my health or I won't be here for my children or loved ones!

    Flame Free Weekend Confessions!

Alrighty!! Last night for dinner I had 2 steamed dumplings from GoGo China! Can you say yuuummy??? I'm on mushies, but I don't blenderize meat...I just eat VERY soft foods & chew well. My surgeon said it's okay! Last weekend I has shrimp Lo Mein!
  17. Alright! Congrats on your sleeve! I'm glad to hear that you are feeling well! I'm going to look up the Body for Life workout...I can't exercise because my back went out, but as soon as my PT let's me, I'm on it!!! Hope to hear from you soon!
  18. I'll be 3 weeks this Monday and I stalled last week too. I'm not freaking because I expected this. My surgeon did too. He told me to take my measurements and keep it moving! I've dropped 33 lbs so far & that's a miracle in my life already! I'm going to keep doing the right things and continue on this journey because I'm in it to win it!!

    8 Am On Monday

I was the exact same! I expected it to be hard & miserable, but I focused on the big picture... And guess what? It was a piece of cake! I've had 2 Csections and the sleeve can't even compare! Good luck & you will do just fine!
  20. Whoop! Whoop! Awesome NSV!

2.5 Weeks Out, Is This Normal?

I went for my 3 week checkup & told my dr that I had experienced the same pain on my left side for the first time yesterday. Speaking of vehicles.. I'm 5'2" and I drive an Avalanche that's a foot or more taller than me! My Doc said it's normal to feel tenderness in the area where the tummy was removed for 6-8 weeks after surgery, so I guess we're okay!

5 Weeks Out--Fatigue And "water Nausea"

I hate plain bottled water, PRE-op I was crazy about those little diet Snapple packets, now I can't stand them! I love, love sugar free Kool Aid packets in my water. Since I started drinking them this last week, I've been easily drinking a 32 oz sports bottle of water, the most I've had since surgery and I do feel better. No comment on the protein supplements-I had to pause on the shakes, I'm eating my protein these days!

    Restriction Questionn

When I feel full it's in my lower chest, which is right at the top of my old tummy. I have a "3 bite sleeve"...three bites of anything and I'm VERY full! My first bite of food tastes really good! I burp after the second bite, and the third bite, which is always my smallest, is the game stopper! I never tempt fate with a 4th bite. I'm 3 weeks post op, on mushies, & I've never thrown up and I hope I never do. I stop at the merest hint of fullness, because after 38 years of ignoring my body, it's about time I listened to it!
  25. Forgive yourself and move on. We all will have bad days. This is a lifetime journey, it can't be undone in one bad day. Tomorrow is a new day! Breathe! Exhale! Move forward knowing that we are all here to offer you support and ask for it in return. And most of all, love yourself and your sleeve...cause it's here for a lifetime!
