Hey everyone!!!! Congrats on everyones progression! you are all doing awesome! I had to share my little excitement on here... I have a ring that I have not been able to get off of my finger in about 4 years. Soap, lotion.. they all did nothing. I always thought about just having it cut off.. but I never ended up doing it. So this morning I was playing with it and it just came off! I have never been so excited to lose weight in my fingers in my life. Not only did it come off, but I can put it back on and take it off with ease. I know this is a small achievement, but I thought I would share! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hey everyone!!! I hope everyone is having a great day, and doing well! I am going in for my third fill this afternoon, and I am a little discouraged. I have lost 36 pounds so far.. (banded january 11th) and I have been doing well! However, since my last fill I haven't lost any weight. I have been sticking to the same diet.. and excersizing at least one hour a day. I haven't felt much restriction or change since the last fill though. I am just wondering if any of you are in the same position as me? I just feel really awful about myself and i'm hoping this fill will help. I am already at 5.2 cc in a 10 cc band. If anyone has any encouraging thoughts, or tips.. I will gladly take them because i'm just feeling really down, and I'm hoping my doctor won't feel as though I am not trying, because I really am. I probably just need to up my protein intake. Thanks! Kathleen

Hey everyone! I had my band placed on January 11th. Lately my port has been sore. If I rub my stomach up against something or if I even lay on my stomach it's uncomfortable. Has anyone had anything similar happen? Its not unbearable or anything... Just uncomfortable and sore. Just wondering if maybe my body is still healing/ getting used to it. Thanks! Kathleen

Please Help Lap Band Surgery Canceled
kath133n replied to jess0504's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
This is a tough situation and I truly feel for you. I was originally supposed to have the surgery in november and 5 days before surgery my insurance company denied it. Turns out the doctors office forgot to send in some paperwork and it was later on approved for January. What I'm saying is it is completely possible for a doctors office to mess up, but at this point it's highly unlikely. Most surgeons have a general list of insurance that covers the surgery so they would have informed you up front if your insurance company was not one of them. I would really fight for this one - I had to, and won. Do your own research on the insurance see if it's really not covered or if they are giving you the run around. If its not - the problem lies within the doctors office. Good luck!!! Kathleen -
How Often Does Your Doctor Fill?
kath133n replied to Ami Faught Crittenden's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ami - I had my surgery on January 11th, and I had my first fill on feb. 24th.. Like you I got 3.5 cc in a 10 cc band. I ALSO lost 30 pounds from pre diet up until now, and I'm hitting a plateau. It sucks. I know how it feels but you have to keep the faith! There are so many success stories, that ours are bound to start sooner than later. I have to wait 6 more weeks for my next fill and I have no restriction right now, do you? Good luck! Keep on keeping on! Kathleen -
This thread is great! I am a bandster as of January 11th 2012. So far it has been a journey, but I feel definite progress! I had my first fill february 24th. It was actually a scary experience, I had 3.5 cc put in a 10 cc band and I felt an extreme fullness and I was very uncomfortable afterwards. My doctor had me drink a shot of water to see how it went down but I felt like it was funneling in, and it even made a gurgling sound. Now that it has been a few days, it has gotten better but I don't feel much of a restriction. Did anyone else feel that they wanted another fill only a few days after their first?
