I Have A Cold - Will They Cancel My Surgery?
brandymarie81 replied to ShannonK's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They cancelled mine, gave me a 5 day round of meds and did my surgery the following Monday morning..I would see if you could get some really good antibiotics from your PCP then you won't have any problems. I had a non-productive cough, tickle in my throat and NO fever..but since I was coughing the dr didn't want me straining to cough and popping a staple in my new tummy. -
Is This Too Easy?
brandymarie81 replied to O.T.R. sleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone heals at a different rate. My doctor told me that if I thought I could handle some things such as refried beans then to go for it...but to remember that I will need to take it VERY slow. I was eating refried beans with sour cream and cheese at 1.5 weeks post op...I would gradually try other things and it if pissed my tummy off I wouldn't do it again. I am just now going back and trying those things again..you will not fail! It may take some time to get into a groove...but once you get there you will be good to go...Also, remember that stalls happen and not to get down on yourself. It took me seeing a major NSV before I realized that even if my scale isn't moving my body is still changing... -
Turned out AMAZING! Whoever came up with it is a genius!

Omg! The Changes Are Really Happening!
brandymarie81 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So even though the scale is going down, my pants are literally falling off me and my ring fits again, I haven't really paid much attention to other changes...I took the first picture when I was a 2 months out from surgery..that is my tummy and about a half an inch of space then the steering wheel...the second one I took on Saturday and it is a bigger space!! Seeing things like this actually proves to me that it is working!! -

Omg! The Changes Are Really Happening!
brandymarie81 replied to brandymarie81's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I sent the first pic to my friend when I took it and was so proud...then I took the one on Saturday but didn't think anything of it til I was looking for an older picture to show my boss. That was when I decided to compare and was SHOCKED at the difference. My tummy was so big it could drive my car...now there is a huge gap! I thought my steering wheel needed to be checked because it was feeling loose...that's when I realized the huge gap. This honestly has to be the best nsv for me so far. I can't wait to see what happens in the next three months. I really want to be 100 lbs down by September! Maybe I will have to adjust my seat! -
One won ton wrapper in each spot of a muffin pan ( I sprayed mine with evoo) then put a layer of ricotta cheese, then your meat and sauce ( I cooked the meat and mixed in the sauce before spooning it into the won tons) then sprinkle in some parmesan then top with mozarella. Bake at 350 for 10-15 it until bubbly and brown. Let cool a few minutes and serve it up.

Carb Addict For Donuts
brandymarie81 replied to simplyQuel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a 6 year old and his treat on Friday when I take him to school is that he gets donuts from the shop down the street...he loves donut holes...and they are my weakness...so I steal one...and eat it in like 6 bites..never all at once...and it kills my sugar needs until the next week...I by no means am telling you to have one...cause honestly I don't think you could even eat one...they are soooooo sugary that I can't think of eating more than 1 donut hole...I do pretty good at getting all my protein and water in so I don't think 1 hole once a week will kill me. -

3 Lbs Down In One Day?!
brandymarie81 replied to Delta_35's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Well according to both of my scales I dropped 10 pounds since yesterday...I am certain that new batteries are needed...cause that is a MAJOR drop...lol...is it wrong that I am praying that it is true and accurate though? lol -
So I got on my scale this morning and it said 396.8..I was a little confused because that would mean 10 pounds in a week...hard to believe..so I got off, let it reset and the got back on...then it said 398.0..still not trusting it I repeated the get off, reset, get back on...4 more times...never getting the same number twice. So I settled for the highest number that appeared of 400.8...but secretly I am hoping that the 396.8 is right! I so want to be below 400! I am scheduled for my 6 week followup tomorrow and his 6 week goal for me was 408 which I passed last week! My personal 6 week goal was 40-50 lbs lost which if my scale was right this morning means I met my goal! Any advice??

It actually pushes me to be better...it pisses me off sometimes but it makes me want to be better about what I eat...during my cycle I don't weigh at all..so I think it balances out.

So the stupid scale is acting all retarded again! I have been weighing at night and in the morning just to see what the differences are and tonight the scale is saying I lost damn near 9 pounds....new batteries will be bought tommorrow!

Not Sure What To Call It...but I Am In The 300's!
brandymarie81 replied to brandymarie81's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Yes, I am trying to catch my bad habits now and make more of a change..I have already changed so much...no soda's, very little coffee, lots of water, counting my protein intake...I am so happy with my steady weight loss...with the exception of the stupid stalls and my cycles being all retarded...but if those are the only negative side effects then I will take them! My goal is to be 100 lbs down by my birthday in September! -
I drink regular Lipton tea every single day and it has not affected my weight loss. Every doctor is different but the basics are the same. The little amount of caffiene that is in the tea is not going to affect me...at least that is what my doctor has said.

I Am So Discouraged
brandymarie81 replied to wanttolose32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We all go through stalls. Just remember that when you are stalled your body is still changing. When I hit my stall weeks I notice that is when I actually start looking slimmer. It will happen. I promise. I am not as good as I should be all the time...but I am still losing. I did this to get healthier and still enjoy food like I used to...well mostly...I eat much smaller portions...I also eat my protein first..noone is saying that you cant eat things that you enjoy, just do it in moderation. Example: I went on a date last night with my son...we went to Chili's and I ordered a salad...ate the chicken off of it...and few bites of lettuce and I was done...I had a coupon for a free desert (chocolate molten) so we ordered it..I had 2 bites of it and was totally satisfied. I woke up this morning with a .6 drop on the scale. Could it have been more? yes. Was it worth spending that wonderful evening focused on my son? yes. The other thing that you have to keep in mind is drinking your water. I don't get in the 64oz that I know I should..but I get in 40 of straight water and then the rest of the day I drink tea. I will choke down those 40oz of straight water to the point where I think I am drowning...but I know I have to do it. My reward is the tea I get to drink for the rest of the evening. Have my habits changed? YES. Do I still enjoy the things I used to? HECK YES.
