I have BCBSIL, but mine still requires a 6 month supervision. I'm ok with it. It gives me a chance to better prepare myself. -

I have not had my surgery yet. I have to do the 6 month supervised diet. I have two appointments left and all I can think about is the pain I will be in and the nausea. I'm not a person who can tolerate pain and when ur comes to nausea forget it I'm a big baby. Can someone please tell me how bad the pain will be and the nausea? Is there something I should ask my doctor for? Any info would be helpful. Thanx

Single And Sleeved-Post Op Suggestions

Hi, I also live alone. I'm pretty lucky that my mom and boyfriend are going to help take care of me. I don't know if I should recover at home, I live on the top floor 2 sets of stairs so I don't know how easy it will be for me to get upstairs. Or I can go to my boyfriends which scares the crap out of me because it is haunted. I have great co workers as well and I know if I needed anything they would help. Do you have any co workers that can help? Family? Friends? Sorry I'm not much help. Keep in touch. -

I have had people tell me the same thing, that I really need to think about this because it is the rest of my life. I tell them that I will be eating like a normal person should and I will be taking care of myself like I should. They ask me don't you want to enjoy thanksgiving meal? I say to them yes and I still will, I will enjoy it even more:) I have to say I'm excited I have meet some people around my age on here. I'm 28 will be 29 in May. Not trying to offend anyone. Sorry if I did. It's hard for me because most of the topics on here seem from people not around my age. I hopefully will be having my surgery May or June in Portland, OR. Keep in touch!

Yes it has been a long 6 months, but a good 6 months. I have learned a lot and I am still learning. The hardest thing has been quitting drinking soda. I can say I haven't drank soda in 5 months. It feels great! I can only imagine what life is going to be like after surgey. Keep in touch -

Hi Lori, I have not yet had my surgery. I have to do the 6 month supervised diet. I have 2 months left woohoo. I live in warrenton, Oregon. I'm two months away and I am scared but excited at the same time. I just keep thinking what it is going to be like after surgery. Good luck! Keep in touch. -
So I went to my weigh in appointment and they had me meet with the metabolic doctor. The metabolic doctor put me on a low dose of ephedrine because my metabolism is so low. They said it will help kick my metabolism into gear. Has anyone else been put on ephedrine? How long dig you take it for? Did you have a hard time with side effects?

I knew something was wrong with me I was always tired and gaining weight. It took three years for me to find out my thyroid was not functioning. The normal is 0.3 I believe. Mine was a 9.537. When they called me to tell me the lady told me " I don't know how you function and make it through the day." I told her I'm not s complainer and I thought it was normal. My advice maybe talk to your doctor and have them do a really good blood test. As for ephedrine I don't like it at all. I would talk to your doctor about your concerns.

I I've decided I want to run a 5k before my surgery which will probably be in a few months. I am very excited for surgery and I want to prove to myself that I can run a 5k. I just finished my 2nd day first week of training. It is such an empowering feeling when your running knowing that your in control of your body and how far you can push yourself. Is there anyone else doing the c25k?

Congrats! I just purchased some running shoes because I was using my shape ups but they were killing my shins. I want to get the chip to put in the shoe to sink it with my iPhone. Do you have an iPhone? Have you heard anything about the Nike + sensor? I hope to run a 5k by may. Have you ran in a 5k race yet? I'm so excited to run one but nervous at the same time. Do you had your sleeve yet? If yes when did you get it? Thanks for replying.

I hurt so much that I messed up my back. My back muscles are so sore that I can't move and had to call into work to tell them I can't work cuz I can't move. I hope with time it will get better.

So I found this workout on YouTube. It's called Tiffany rothe workouts. It is fun and I feel good doing it. However, I did it yesterday and now my back muscles are killing me. Is it normal to feel like this? I was running a mile a day four days a week and weights 2 days a week. What is more important? Cardio, weights, or aerobics? Or something else? Any info would help.
