FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi All... It's apparent that I haven't been here since the start of May. My avi still says its my birthday month! Sigh...I have a meeting tomorrow with the NUT! Scale is going up. As of yesterday, it went down but I need it to continue to go that way! Having a hard time planning a meal that gives me my daily protein totals without snacking! UGH! Hope all of Fab Feb Sleevers are making it happen for them! -

Cadiac clearance?! Help!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to VivaDiva01's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My test was a two day process. I was connected to a machine, while on the treadmill they inserted a dye in an IV. The next text was like a CatScan (if I remember correctly) or X-Ray. The next day I went back and they did the same thing. That was it. -
Ideas for what to tell people?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There was one person who specifically asked what I was doing. I told them, restraint and exercise. Both true. I also had a hernia repair so if they push that is what I will say. I was also on our WW at Work program. So some have asked if I was still doing WW. I have been in the face of ridicule long enough. I'm not going to add to it with people who really don't mean me well. I say do what is best for you. -
protein shake issue! please help!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to nlbossert's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If they are lactose and dairy free, what is the fat content. I tried the atkins as my first protein post-op because I knew I liked them, but initially it was the fat content that sent me to the BR. After that I stuck to Premiere Protein shakes. But as someone mentioned try a powder with water. -

I picked up a box from Sam's on yesterday. Can't wait to try them. I can smell the seasonings through the box. Laura-Ven, how did you prepare them?

LIQUID TIRED
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to TiASleeves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand your frustration. I have 2 weeks more before I can progress to solids and I'm 8 weeks out today!!! So, as soon as I can sink my teeth into some soft cheese and my lips around a think slice of deli turkey or chicken, I will be oh so happy! -

Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will be 8 weeks out tomorrow! Can I share that the last few days have been tough!!! My senses are reawakened and I smell every aroma from every restaurant around me. I live behind the mall so, you can imagine, I'm having it pretty bad! :-( I had to go to the mall today foe a gift for my Mom and Cooper's Hawk was smelling divine! I don't even each steak! Unofficially, I'm 33 lbs. down from day of surgery. I have my 2 mo. Post- op appt. on Wed. Usually, their scale shows more than mine, so that is why I say unofficial. -

Hungry
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to angel_23's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try stock as well. It has more flavor than broth. And 1 week is nothing. I haven't even made it to the full liquid stage and I'll be 2 mos. post-op Tuesday. It takes a little will power to get to the desired goal! -

Sleeping position
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to nume2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I slept on my sides immediately. That was the only way I could get sleep or relief from the gas pain. I should add this was after the anesthesia wore off enough for me to move. I was on my back until then. -
