FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Being 5 days PO, I feel like I should be doing more. I don't have to go out because, I tried to take care of everything prior to. Besides I'm on driving restriction for 2 weeks. Well, especially if taking the pain meds. So my routine, sip, sip, walk, rest. Repeat. Most times there is more walking and sipping. But what else can I do right now? Any suggestions? I do realize I've had major surgery, so I'm not looking to overdo it. -

I was going to buy the sublingual but my NUT was specific for how many mg's of something...oh...I can't think of what needed to be in there. So I just got the pill that had the exact amount. However, why not try mixing with diluted juice or whatever one of your drinks may be during the day. -

I too had no pain with the incisions. The nurses remarked about it. My pain comes from the gas. So I only asked for it when the gas was unbearable and walking did not help. I was more nauseated than anything and the only other time I asked for pain meds was due to a headache. I thought the same the only way to really know that I've had the surgery is my intake. I would say, just take it slow, we have had major surgery and healing needs to be completed. The outside may not look like it but our organ was disected. I think we will both do well. Congrats to you. -
WOW! 14 pounds down!

I was sleeved on Tuesday as well. I could probably get all my liquids in if I don't force water first. Tea(hot) is much better going down. I also had a hernia repair. I can't do protein until after 2 weeks. But I have some isopure that I'm allowed to have but not the powder. -

Came home today! Pains from gas is all I had and am experiencing. Glad things are finally done! Now I can begin! -
It has been a year and one month and my day is here. I am so calm that it is scaring me. Not so sure how to feel about that.

Hi Everyone, I have been here awhile, was originally scheduled for December 2012, but pushed back until 2.26.13. I had a horrible night last night, got nauseous while sleeping. It was such a horrible feeling along with lightheadedness. I'm much better, but I have so much to do around my house to prepare for when I come home. Tomorrow will begin again and I will do what I can. Much success to all!!! -

I feel absolutely horrible. What does dehydration feel like cause I think i'm there? I got nauseous in the middle of the night while sleeping. From What???? I have been on Protein shakes made with Water since Tuesday and just water. Two more days then I can add broths and diluted juices, crystal light and decaf teas. But in the meantime what do I do? Everthing is a chore to do zapping what little energy I do have. I have so much to prepare before Tuesday, please advise. -

There are some posts here that discuss shake recipes. Just type in your search bar. I also watched some vids on YT to get some ideas as well. Albeit, I'm very simple most times. I also bought some sugar free Torani and Davinci syrups to give a hint of flavor as well. Torani has several flavors to choose from. -

Wow! I was able to get the generic of it so it wasn't that much. I have to do it 2 times a day. 3 scripts cost me around $70 bucks. The Nexxium was $60 by itself, which I bought another day. So all together $130. -

It's not as bad as you think. The nectar flavors can be made with milk or water. I had Roadside Lemonade, Pink Grapefruit, Fuzzy Navel, Crystal Sky and strawberry Kiwi. So I think milk would not be a good choice for those flavors. LOL I'll go get the Body Fortress because I don't want to force that Pure Protein down. No way! -

Susie, thanks for the hugs! My shakes have been made with Syntrax nectar. They all have been tasty to say the least. I have some Pure Protein in there that I can't tolerate with Water or milk, but will check the carb content and see if that will help. I thought about buying the Body Fortress, but I don't know how it tastes. I don't want to tubs of protein that I don't like just wasting. And it's not 4 everyday. I know that I need to push more, but I'm getting to the place where I can't stand the smell. *horrible* -

I agree. At this rate they will be rolling me in. I did drink some diluted juice. I figure that wouldn't hurt since I can have that on Monday anyway. -

Surgeon's orders are with Water that is the only reason I'm doing so. I'm supposed to do 3-6 per day. The most I have gotten in were 4 and some Isopure. I'm gonna keep pressing but do not want an ER bill before surgery. Just doesn't make sense. -

Day 3 of Pre-op Diet. I'm so drained and have a mound of work to do. I think tomorrow will be my last day of work. I was going to work on Monday as surgery is on Tuesday. -

New guy here, you've GOT to read this!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to BigFrank's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
When I joined this site just a smidge over a year ago, I was excited. I spent days on end researching the site reading posts to become familiar with what I could expect. There were a few 'real life' posts and I took heed. I became pretty much obsessed and finally had to take a break. When I returned I found that most of those who were posting regularly were no longer here. (I'm certain there are several reasons) Yet, I do recall 1 or 2 who stated that the mood, feel of the site changed. And so it did. I rarely check now and I rarely post. It may help that mods, IMO, create a category with specifically for venting or surgery struggles that is not mainstream. Is it important to know pros and cons, absolutely. But just because I have had a struggle doesn't mean that the next person will, or vice versa. I would weigh my options and voice my concerns with the Medical Staff and allow them to respond. Everything has risks and Nothing is guaranteed! -

Hi, I'm looking to try some of the products from Healthwise. Does anyone know where I can purchase directly from a bariatric store or doctor's office in the Chicagoland area. Thanks. -
