FEBRUARY SLEEVERS 2013....how you doing after you've been Sleeved
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Okay, thank you. I know this seems a bit crazy, but how do you measure the amount of protein powder for a bottle as opposed to a shake. Or how much would you suggest to use for the Crystal Light? I mix my Crystal Light right in the bottle the water comes in. I have not used my blender bottle or Camelback since surgery. I think the size intimidates me, so I keep it manageable with the 16 oz. -

Are you saying mix the Unflavored into Crystal Light? What about diluted juice? I'm afraid it won't mix well in the colder water or juice. Hmmmm...possibly, I could make the crystal light in room temperature and refrigerate. What a light bulb moment! LOL -

I started my Protein and Vitamin stage today. Phase 2...also inclused strained creamed soups. I made my Cream of Chicken with Lemon Powder, so it would taste like I was eating Lemon Rice soup minus the Rice and Chicken. :-) I had a protein shake this morning that didn't sit well with me. I will try again tomorrow. If that doesn't work then a case of Isopure it is. I know my tummy will tolerate that. I have to get my protein in somehow. I ordered Unjury so my shipment will be here tomorrow. That way I know that I can use the unflavored in my soup. That along with Isopure should get me close to 60 grams, right? -

Sick and tired of full liquids and protein shakes!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to two_boysmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I tried the Alpine Punch and the Mango Peach with the Lemonade Crystal light. It has to be ice cold. It will change your mind. I tied it once before but whichever flavor I had of both did not mix well. -
I hate to admit it

(((((HUGS)))) I will be 2 weeks out tomorrow and still struggling to get 64 oz. in. It is unnerving most times because I know that is why I am lethargic. I try to start early so I can get everything in. Friday and Saturday were successful days but today not so much! I would contact your Surgeon's office to make them aware. Maybe they will advance you to the next phase a bit early. -

I took extra pants, toothbrush, toothpaste, undies, feminine products(needed them), comb, brush, phone, charger, iPad and a robe. Used all but the iPad. Oh and Gas-X, Listerine strips, sugar free candy. I packed light and wasn't interested in anything really but sleep. -

I was sleeved on the 26th and started sleeping on my side the very next day! It was the only way I could get any semblance of sleep! -
Sick and tired of full liquids and protein shakes!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to two_boysmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also found that stirring my protein powder and allowing it so sit before drinking helped a bit. This was with the Pure Protein. My Syntrax Nextar mixed very well. -

Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was starting to believe that as well. LOL However, my Surgeon has us on a strict phase plan, so I don't start protein until next week....for 6 more weeks. UGH! But if its necessary, then I will follow. I have been blessed not to have any other pains besides the gas. 2/26/13 Sleevers are gonna knock it out the box. Hahaha -

That is something that will happen due to the fact that you are adding foods to your diet. It will balance out especially once you exercise. Stand firm...all is well. Even before being sleeved, I was on a plan my FD devised. Once I started reintroducing foods that i had been off of, my weight did go up. And these were suggested foods. I didn't understand it at the time. But had I been persistent, it would have all leveled out. -

How do you prepare your fish and shrimp. Before the surgery, I would broil my shrimp and Tilapia in olive oil and a little butter. But I don't know what to do but a little olive oil. Do you mind sharing? This is for anyone as well... -
Pre-Surgical Liquid Diet Help!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Jermiria LaideeJae Darden's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
I drank Atkins advantage before my pre-op diet. However, when it was time for my pre-op, I could have not milk based products. My drinks had to be made with Water. I had some Syntrax nectar on hand, which helped out tremendously and was pretty good despite the fact they were mixed with water. I have had the Nectar with almond milk as well. My NUT gave me a couple of samples of unjury, chocolate and Vanilla. They were both good and mixed easily...again both with water. So I am sure they will be even more delicious in milk. I have also had Pure Protein....it's okay. I've had Lean Body, Designer whey, Isopure and Cytosport. What I have come to like about the Isopure Zero Carb is that when I add a crystal light packet it tastes much better and it has to be very chilled. My favs are the Alpine Punch and Mango Peach, I think it is. I ordered the Premiere when Amazon had the amazing sale, so I'm not sure how it tastes, but I hear great things. Much success to you. -

Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to DivaNurse's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I could probably do more outside of water. I love water but it's plain for me right now. With tea, crystal light, stocks, I'm able to get in a considerable amout. However, I want to balance the rest with water but it takes me hours just to get a 16 oz bottle down. ARRRGGGGH! -
Help, am I full?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to caramelbaby10181's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I sure wish I could do a popsicle. NUT says Surgeon doesn't want the chance of biting and then the solid hits the staple line. I do bite my popsicles and ice cream. Yes, hold on. I have 8 week altogether of clear and full liquids. Can't even get to pureed until week 9. What 2 months. Don't you think I will be a little bit sick of it all. YES I WILL! LOL -
