Throwing the scale out the window!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to kortolano's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told in WW that when exercising your muscles will hold water as well. So I agree to up the fluid intake and make certain that you do release it. I don't even get flustered if its that time because water retention is a great possibly. -

Side effects: is this normal?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Gburto3's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am anemic, but have been advised that iron is a no-no by my Surgeon. Greag, I'm glad you were able to get a response quickly. -
Clot? Strange pain?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Evolving's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a venous dopler done on last week to check for clots. I am experiencing pain in the rt. leg as well. It even went numb so much so when I went to stand, I couldn't walk. However, the tech said no clots and if there was a sign of one, she would not have let me leave. You may ask for that test just to be safe. -
1 month out. Was doing great. Now acid bad last few days. Normal?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to ShrinkingInSeattle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I posted something similar earlier. I will be 4 weeks out Tuesday. I'm calling the office in the morning. I was told to bump my Nexxium to twice daily. It did not help. Was afraid to drink or eat today. -
Reflux is giving me the FLUX!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Patienlywtng on my Curves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks. I'm unable to have cheese, yet. This just started happening. I will call the Surgeon's office tomorrow. Thank you. -
Reflux is giving me the FLUX!
Patienlywtng on my Curves posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have given my two cents on others post when they mention regarding acid reflux nd today even my own advice is not working. I was awaken in the middle of the night, only to get up and take a dose of Nexxium. I have taken two more since and still no relief. I am drinking some lemon ginger tea. Still no relief, does anyone have any suggestions. I am still on liquids. could the mushrooms in the cream of mushroom be a culprit? I strained as best I could. I'm afraid to drink anything. Needless to say I've had no Protein today. -
:( sometime keep my mind straight
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to ashbhey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you able to have creamed soups yet? I tried cream of shrimp today, strained of course, but it was tasty after I added lemon powder. It has bits of garlic in it that needs to be restrained. I digress...nevertheless the creamed soups have been my saving grace. -
Food Network
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to EYE CANDY's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I watch as well...why??? Because I will have to cook more. I don't have to add all the butter and flour and extra calories, but I can use some of the tips to make healthy meals. food Porn...pishaw!! Not even. I look for ways that will be helpful to me and that I can adapt for my 'Reset' lifestyle. Can't wait to buy a stovetop smoker. Where did I get the idea...Food Network. Can't wait to try new sauce on my Salmon, Tilapia and Shrimp...where did I get the idea??? You got it....and lastly, I cannot wait until I try my smoked salmon burger. All compliments of me watching something that I watched pre surgery. Have fun, create new ideas OR just have fun watching! -

Yes, it seems that I never get warm enough. If I turn my heat up any higher...well let's just say I'm using wisdom. LOL -
Feel like I must be doing something wrong
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to giggles232000's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You can say that again...and again... whew! I think the first full day at home it took me 12 hours to drink that water. Just 16.9 oz. Tea went down and still goes down very quickly. -

Giggles, I understand. I didn't drink nearly as much preop but could get down a great deal in a small amount of time thanks to my Camelback. Can't wait to start using it again. -
What do you take for acid reduction
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to kpaige77's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

the sleeve and reflux?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to VSG4aHealthierMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a small hernia and it was repaired during the sleeve sugery. My Surgeon did mention that it might not get better. I can tell you at 3 weeks out I am experiencing some issues, but it is probably due to the lemon powder I put in my soups. I was told just to take my Nexxium twice a day. However, right after I made the call, I pushed more fluids and more soup and I haven't had any issues thus far today. So it may depend on the patient?? Do you know if you have a hiatal hernia? -

Liquid diet cheaters
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to jc4444's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
JC, I'm hoping that all will turn out well for you. It is hard to make the transition from food to liquid. But please try some additional Protein drinks. The Isopure is good with a little Crystal Light in it. It gives a different taste, if you are able to have it. I have just ordered Premiere Protein and they are good! 30 grams of protein. You will want to build up your stores, IMHO. Much success to you! -

I know my issue is not getting all of my liquids in. If you are following your Surgeon's instructions, then you are doing a fantastic job. Everyone has their own course and you are doing fine! -

how to get my protein?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to amytug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Nurse and NUT told me when feeling weak or dizzy to dilute 100% juice. That way it is not just full sugar IMO. No, you are not alone. Today was the first day that I could tolerate my Protein at all. NUT said it was the fat content in my Atkins that bothered me. I have spent money on unjury, used in skim milk and that bothered me as well. So glad that I ordered the Premiere, because that is all I can do besides Isopure. Used milk in my creamed Soups but must be careful how much I add, as well. I pray things turn around for you! -

they want me to what?!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to onelessfatgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did use it at home, but not that many times a day. I only coughed if I needed to. Yes a pillow to support the tummy! I didn't at first in the hospital but when I got home it was necessary just to walk to get the gas out!!
