Syntrax Nectar Protien Shakes
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to petra1124's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
These were my saving grace for pre-op diet as I had to have my shakes made with water. They mixed easily and tasted really good. I used the Cappacino and Chocolate Truffle together for a morning shake. Great combo. I mixed 2 others as well, but can't remember now. -

stressed with anxiety ....help
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to yazzy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are not alone in this... I too was unable to get all liquids and Proteins in. I did the best I could and am still doing the same. I am6 weeks out today and it wasn't until last week that I was able to get all required quantities in. Please don't strew and do the best you can. Try variety and temps. Set a plan for yourself and try to stick with it. It will get better. -
Bored Outta My Mind
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to MsVictorious1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand I was bored with a capital B as well. The day after my 1 week post op appt., I drove to the support meeting. I didn't do much more unless I absolutely had to go out. I was very weak. No pain meds had been taken since the Saturday before so I was good. -

A small suggestion regarding ~~Water~~
Patienlywtng on my Curves posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like most after post-op, I was having difficulty getting my Water in. The taste of water didn't change for me, but I just could not manage getting more than a bottle of water in initially. I finally got a little better adding flavoring, but I really wanted pure water to ensure that my system was flushed and no UTI's would occur. Last week I ran out of the bottled water that I had and decided to change it up. This change has made a huge...Huge....HUGE difference for me. I changed the brand I was using now I'm up to 3 bottled waters each day (up from 1 1/2 per day), with no problem drinking. I say this is a tremendous victory for me. So my suggestion to you, if you are struggling and like me just didn't want the added flavors (Crystal Light, etc). Try a different brand and see if that helps. ***Nothing beats a failure...but a try*** -

I am still on liquids until week 9. The carbs I mentioned would be in the creamed soups, diluted juice or protein shakes. -
should I go to weight watchers?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Iweeny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We started WW at work program. I went until the week before my surgery. It is what helped me to lose Pre-op! I will return soon. I'm glad it was mentioned they don't like theirs of WLS. I was not going to mention it anyway at work! -

Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Patienlywtng on my Curves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Satchel, I was the same way directly after surgery! Brushing more often per day. That feeling stopped when I was able to get some carbs in. But it really was annoying! -
African American Sleevers
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to ATLGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had issues when starting protien, but I'm drinking the Premier Protein shakes. They are what agree with me. I ordered the Unjury because I had it presurgery...they just didn't agree with me early on and I haven't tried them again. The unflavored...what did you use it in? I did put a little in my soup once, wasn't bad, but was unsure of how to keep the temp at 140 degrees so it wouldn't clump. I also did the isopure, but I put a packet of Crystal Light in and it was really tasty. I stopped drinking because it was causing a little reflux, but other than that, if you can try again try w/ CL. I am still on liquids until week 9...yep you read right. but I can have creamed soups as well so I do 1/4 cup 2 times a day. Have to have a celebratory protein drink on my b-day! -
Would You Have Weight Loss Surgery Again?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes!! In all my thinking that I could do it the conventional way, the sweat and tears...I could have had help. Still would have to do the same things, but would have progressed. Yet, there is a time and season for everything and this is my time!!! -
A small suggestion regarding ~~Water~~
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Patienlywtng on my Curves's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried the Water room temp, cool and cold. Nothing worked as far as the water. Everything else went down smoothly, no matter what room temp. Of course, I'm sure that had something to do with the chemical aspects of it....density as has been mentioned here on the site multiple times. I was just getting really discouraged because I like plain water, no sizzle or fruity taste, just water. -
A revelation!
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to sstark1285's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Your words were spot on. It is not food that is the culprit, it is the emotions and reasons that food is used that become the downfall. Once those reasons are detached then the choice of what is eaten is changed, it won't bring on the guilty feelings. I have heard time and again eat to live...not live to eat. So if one day someone chooses to eat a 1/4 piece of a slice of pizza and they are not making a habit of it, why not enjoy it. Even when dieting, it is recommended not to deprive yourself of things enjoyed. -
feb 2013 sleevers weigh in
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to kathyhalls's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DOS 2.26 Currently holding at 19 lbs from DOS. I'm a little bummed about it, but I have not been getting all fluids in nor protein. It is getting much better. I do a real good job getting liquids in during the work day. When the weekend comes around, its a bust! I also find I'm want more to drink after working out. I have 3 weeks more before I can go on pureed food! I guess I will have a celebratory protein shake on my Birthday!!! :-) -
How soon after surgery do u exercise?
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to krystalt313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Walking was an option early on but as I was weak all the time, I didn't get much in. I was cleared at 4 weeks to do whatever I wanted. I now walk on treadmill and light weights. Planning on getting a trainer to get the most results. It is pretty costly at my gym though. Thinking of switching membership to the Y. But whatever you do, don't overdo it. I lifted my case of Water yesterday and kind of felt a pull. Do what you can, when you can. -
Water hurts
Patienlywtng on my Curves replied to Kelly1334's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Definitely not alone. I do have the squeeze bottle of crystal light. One squeeze too much gives me acid reflux. I have the True Lemon as well, but I think it is irritating me too. :-( -

Can someone recommend where to get the Biotin in sublingual form? I also need it in the B complex. My pill crushing is horrible...tastes and smells horrible. However my NUT recommends 100mg of Thiamine in it...the b complex.
