    Protein Shakes

I too would recommend purchasing the sample pack of nectar. They offer 13 flavors for $13 shipping included. I have tried a couple and so far the Vanilla Bean Torte is my favorite. Since I have not had surgery yet I'm using it with Almond Milk. I also drink the Atkins Advantae and EAS. They don't have as much Protein as the Premiere as recommended by the others, but they are tasty. I use those for my Breakfast and will slowly incorporate other items with it.

    20 Minutes

I had my first NUT appt. on Monday. She did advise to take at least 20 mins as it takes the brain that long to register that you are full.

    No Less Meds...not More

Had a follow up with a PCP today. BP is in the normal range for the second time this week. I haven't seen 120/80 in about 12 years. 11 lbs down according to their record. BUT...he wants me on Cholesterol meds. I just don't know what to do. Does anyone else take this type of med now or pre surgery? I'm having the surgery to be healthy not add more meds. Any suggestions. What are some of your experiences taking this type of med? He did say that I would lose lbs taking this.

    File Submitted To Cigna Today!

I noticed on the website that the surgery plan is up for renewal in May. I hope they reduce the 6 month supervised visits.
  8. Stressed! Started my walks again, it helped for a bit but I'm feeling the tightness in my shoulders and back again! *heavy sigh*

AA Sleevers; where are you; what's your status??

Hi All... Just wondering what other avenues for research are being used...i.e. YouTube, OH. Sometime reading some post become a bit overwhelming for me. I am on FB but only 2 people there know I have considered having WLS. This page is for my Undergrad Classmates...so on day I'm going to be like.."Boom" at Homecoming! LOL Seriously this is for my health! Showing the 'Rediscovered' me at Homecoming is just a '+'. ~Lyn

    Carecredit Question

I would imagine that you would be able to pay it off in advance. I would try the customer service number or check the website for FAQ's. I remember checking the site a few weeks back but do not remember what the specifics were.

Bowel Movement, There I Said It

I've not had surgery yet, so my suggestion may be a bust. I am however taking Protein drinks and am not as regular as I have been since drinking them. My suggestion is a tea called Smooth Move, it is an herbal tea. What about a different item, Benefiber? I would go so far as to say prune juice, but not certain that you can have that now.

    Coincidence? I Think Not....

I believe we become so wrapped up in what it is we have set our mind to do, it is hard to deal with a set back. Saying to someone that the delay may be a blessing in disguise is a hard pill to swallow most times. You had to realize that for yourself. Get well and rest in knowing all things work together in their proper timing!

The Road To Wls Has Been A Long One!

    Apprehensive

Much success to you. This forum holds a wealth of information. I took a Saturday and read old forums. I was so prepared when I met with the nutritionist on Monday that I could have told her what she told me. But use the information wisely. Yes take some of the info with a grain of salt and store other tidbits for when you endure something or have a question regarding something. You will do fine.

I'm So Fearful Of Surgery / Anasthesia!

I have had a few surgeries. The older I get the more I become anxious. Your 'fears' are valid. However, start to think positive thoughts, speak it out loud if you must. Make it apart of your daily activity to speak positive outcomes of the procedure. I have nausea after anesthesia, so I already know going in to ask for something. Beyond that, I'm still going to combat my axiety surrounding the surgery with something postive, indulging in music or reading, something that will remove my thoughts to drive me to a panic attack.
  20. It's amazing that a topic of negativity can yield numerous responses, but ones who are actually posting something positive only receive a read! SMH Where's the balance?

    1St Nut Appt.

After the longest 30 days in my history, I saw the Medical Dr. and the Nutritionist today. Both visits went well. I was so prepared for the NUT because most of the information I already knew or learned from here. One thing that I know I won't be doing and that is because I learned it here...Protein Shots. LOL I have to remember to tell her the reason why. Learning from other's experience here, YouTube and OH (which I seldom visit), adds to the education one will receive. I'm greatful for the 6mos that I will have to go through. It's one day at time anyway. Now I believe that time will pass quickly and say I'm at the final stage. She also offered a website some of you may or may not be interested in. This is especially for Pre-Oper's who may have a 3 or 6 mo. medically supervised diet. The website show pic of lunch ideas. I thought it was cute and worth sharing. Here's the site: http://easylunchboxes.smugmug.com Until next time... Lyn

" Be Still And Know That I Am God !"

Amen! Thanks for posting this. Do you know that I'm feeling this way and I have not even had surgery yet. The thing is I'm going hard, but if there is a pebble to come along my path will I be able to recover and regroup. It's the smallest things that holds our focus. The ultimate goal is to be happy, healthy and whole. I like the Vitamin S: Surrender. I may have to borrow that with your premission.
