My BIGGEST fear when going out to eat was always making sure they have tables available. I'm never able to fit into a booth. UNTIL NOW!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! We went to our favorite diner and the waitress seated us, and took us to a booth. My hubby just looked at me, knowing that I always ask for a table. This time I just nodded and said 'this is fine' and I literally just slipped right in!!!! Such a stupid thing but I felt amazing. It was so cozy and my hubby and I giggled the entire dinner how exciting it was that we both fit in a booth! (he never fit either, he's sleeved too!) love my sleeve. Love my nsv's. Love everything now. <3

I find it very awkward going out to eat now. I do t want kids menu food. I don't to have to change my food choices because of my small stomach. I want to eat normal. We went out yesterday and I ordered the appetizer fried calamari. I rarely eat anything fried so this was a treat. My hubby (also sleeved) ordered a chicken panini. The portions were huge. The price for each meal was only 9.95. ( diner ) so after we're done, the waitress comes and looks puzzled as to why we ate so little. I guess it's because we're still big people and well it just doesn't make sense to her. But I want to order what I want, and I'll just take it home. I actually love having restaurant leftovers. Lunches for a few days .....

Watching Obese People, Wanting To Help, Knowing I Can't
JDHenin replied to Catracks's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Someone at my husbands job approached him about having the surgery himself and what it did for him. At the time my hubby was a bit irked by this, but he had never heard of the sleeve before. Long story short, my hubby and I both had sleeves because of him. -
Was shopping at the supermarket after work today, and saw 3 different guys check me out?!?! Really?! This hasn't happened to me in about 12 years. Gotta tell you, I love every bit of attention I'm getting! Losing weight ROCKS!!!!

Hi all, can anyone recommend a gummy vitamin that has iron in it? As well as all the vitamins you would find in a multi vitamin. Currently I take vita fusion , it has 200% vitamin d which I need, but no iron or zinc. I was told my zinc was a little low in my pre op bloodwork. I'm trying to find that all in one! Thanks

Its my new favorite thing!!! I'll admit I totally DESPISE exercise. I do. Sorry but I don't workout. Ive lost 110 lbs with little exercise. I'm sure I will pay for it with loose skin, but.... Anyway my surgeon really wanted me to try swimming. But for me putting on bathing suit was out of the question. But I put my big girl panties on and sucked it up and got a bathing suit and didn't care. Now I go to the pool a few times a week and I'm loving it!!!! I stay for hours and I really work my legs and arms. So easy on the joints. Love it.

Fruits are good but go online and look for glycemic index chart. The fruits on that are lower on the index chart ate better for you. It helped me a lot.

Let me tell you, putting a bathing suit on and being seen in public was my biggest insecurity. This year I put one on and I don't care! I'm enjoying myself and getting my exercise. And honestly, most of the women out there look very similar to me anyway! So I say out that suit on and don't let that insecurity get to you. Enjoy yourself and be cool!!!!

Love it!! It's so amazing how these little things can go unnoticed until all of a sudden you're like holy crap? That's something I've never done?! I have to climb a long flight of stairs to get to my office at work and 8 months ago I would be sweating ad soooooo out of breath by the time I got up there. Now it's a breeze and I'm not out of breath. I'm loving all my little nsv's. I love hearing everyone's.

Awake During Endoscopy?
JDHenin replied to Fallenangel2904's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Omg no. I was told the same thing that I wouldn't be completely asleep. But I've had 3 done and font remember a single thing much less feel anything. So sorry at least it's over! -
Once you start on solids, usually around the 5 week mark, You should be trying your best to get your protein from food, not shakes. My surgeon was very persistent with this and I'm so glad he was. As long ad you can tolerate chicken, Tina, fish etc I say go for it and only have a shake if needed. It really helps with getting your sleeve used to more and different foods as well.

To Tell Or Not To Tell....
JDHenin replied to PeaceLove&Tash's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tell everyone who notices my weight loss and asks 'how did u do it'? I am not ashamed and won't lie. Everyone I've told have been super supportive and so happy for me. I actually love talking about it. -
Watermelon is easy to eat, but it's sugar content is high. Trying to stay away from the higher sugar fruit
-
My doc said to stay away from fruits with high glycemic index, like watermelon. Try to stay low with the sugars. There's all kinds of charts online to see which ones are high/low.

5 Days Post Op- Only 8Oz Liq/day And Under 200 Calories
JDHenin replied to SophieJaneB's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No that's not enough. Try your hardest to sip literally thru out the day. Keep a water bottle or whatever liquid you like, crystal light etc and sip sip sip. You will get dehydrated faster than you think. You don't need to gulp water down. But just sip slowly but often. If you start to feel very tired or dizzy/ light headed that's a sure sign of dehydration. Better to avoid that. Good luck! -

My Story: Short Fat Italian
JDHenin replied to gustavo52974's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Oh boy that's a tough diet phase. All surgeons are different. It's amazing how their diet plans vary so much from others. But my best advice is stock to it!! It's only a short time even though it feels like forever. You can do it. -
My Story: Short Fat Italian
JDHenin replied to gustavo52974's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Yay I loved your story!! Short fat Italian girl from long island here. How did your surgery go? Feeling ok? Sounds like everything went well. I had my surgery on April 9 and am down 60 pounds post op, but 115 in total since I started last August. Good luck to you and you will be so happy you did this once you're able to eat 'normal' again. -
