Me me me!!!! Tomorrow's the big day!! I'm super excited for my journey to begin. I'm also super nervous. Pre op diet was a challenge. But I did it. ANDDDDD I'm already down 70lbs. since August when I made the decision to do this...only 150 more to go! LOL. Started at 399, this morning was 330, and my goal is 175. I'm on my last day of pre op diet!!!!! My surgery is tomorrow!!!! My wonderful husband came home a few days ago with sugar free Extra APPLE PIE FLAVORED GUM!!!!!!!!!!! OMG....what a life saver. It allows you to chew and taste a delicous flavor. He's since bought me mint chocolate chip, and strawberry shortcake. Highly recommend for your pre op diet to get a different and satisfying taste in your mouth!!! Good luck. Wish me luck, I go in tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Redhead...My cousin had her sleeve done with Dr. Vohra. She was very pleased with him. She had the lapband to sleeve revision. Lap band was also done with Dr. Vohra.

My surgery is this monday the 9th. Because I was cleared of the Barrett's is why I can be sleeved. I do have esophagitis which I take a med called Dexilant daily. I don't FEEL any reflux but my doc said u don't have to feel it to have it.

Hi!! Yes I had to have 2 endoscopies done. The first one 'suspected' the Barrett's. Because of this, I had to go for an EUS which is a endoscopic ultra sound. This is a much more thorough test and they actually biopsy the esophagus. I was told that a regular endo doesn't see as much as the eus. By having this done, they saw no indication of Barrett's. My surgeon told me the same thing. Sleeve is not recommended for ppl with barretts. Can cause severe acid reflux, and can cause esophageal cancer. Most ppl who have Barrett's never know they even have it. I'm thankful it was ruled out for me. Did they suggest an EUS for you?

Im 5'5 and was 399. I started my 6 month program in August and have lost 55 lbs on my own. I have my surgery date of April 9th. Hoping to drop another 10-15 lbs while on the liquid pre op diet prior to surgery! So don't worry you certainly aren't alone.

So I was browsing thru eBay for some good prices on protein powder. I came across a site call Pacific Purity. Www.pacificpurity.com I am being sleeved on April 9 and needed to find an unflavored whey protein powder that I can add to my flavored sf drinks. You can get a 1 pound bag for 11.95 and 2 pounds for 16.95. I ordered it today and thought I'd share in case anyone was looking. . They're sooooo expensive and I thought this price was very reasonable. It has 27 grams of protein for 30 g of powder.

Wow!!!! You lost 131lbs after surgery?? In just 6 months? I'm going in on April 9 and that's how much I need to lose!! I sure hope it takes me that amount of time! You look amazing. Keep up the good work girl!!!

Happy to say that my doctor just called to tell me that the insurance approved everything! My surgery is now scheduled for April 9 and I couldn't be more excited ( and nervous). It's all becoming so real now. It's been a long 7 months, getting all my required studies done. Seemed like today would never come. Ive been everyone's stories and have found lots of comfort in them. I've lost 54 lbs on my own ( go me!!) to get ready for the surgery. So excited to see the weight come off after surgery. :):)

Yay!!! I'm gearing up now. My paperwork only says 1 week liquid diet before. Most I've seen here are 2. Not sure why. I'm so ready for this. So tired of being fat. Happy the time has finally come. I'm 34 and have no health issues other than being big. I'd like to keep it that way. Where are you from? NY here.

Saw this on Dr. Oz today, so I haven't tried it yet. All it is, is one box of chocolate cake mix, 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt and 1 cup of water. No eggs or oil! Bake at 350. They didn't say how long. I would start checking a little before the recommended time on the box. I can't wait to try! <3

I'm 35, and 345 lbs and have NO health issues. My reason for doing this (I'm still pre-op)is to stay healthy. When I go the doctor and ask me the standard questions- have hbp, cholesterol etc my answer is no. They seem perplexed. They're very surprised that I am so big and don't have any health issues. So that's my goal with the sleeve. To stay healthy. I've done my research. Band is not for me. Gastric bypass not for me. I'm in insurance approval mode now, hoping to get my date soon!!!!
