Observations 3,5 Months Post Op
ShouldBlittler commented on desertmom's blog entry in desertmom's Blog
Thanks! Helpful observations! -
So glad you are feeling better. Me too.... I am also 5 days post op. Hopefully today I will be able to get in all of my H20.

Hello everyone... I just had my surgery on Wednesday, June 20th. I am having trouble getting in my liquids. I take a small sip of a liquid, and about 10 seconds later, I feel a gas bubble surface. This is uncomfortable. It makes me dread drinking. Will this feeling eventually go away?

My surgery was Wednesday, June 20th. I had my gallbladder out at the same time. There have been no complications so far (knock on wood), except that I feel terrible. I feel nauseous, and shaky, and generally not like myself at all. For months before the surgery, I was reading the forums. I know that most people don't feel well at first and think to themselves what have I done? That's the stage where I am right now. Ugh.

Caffeine...yay Or Nay Pre Op?
ShouldBlittler replied to girlfriday's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit all caffeine before the surgery because I thought that I didn't want to be battling a caffeine headache at the same time I was trying to learn how to eat differently. -
I'm wondering if I feel sicker than I may have otherwise because I had my gallbladder removed at the same time.... Anyone with an opinion? Will the bubble of air that comes up from my stomach each time I drink or sip anything eventually subside?

Believe me, I hear that. I just want to feel better and I logically know that I will.... but for now, I am am nauseous... and tearful. Let's stick together.

Surgery In The Morning!
ShouldBlittler replied to jonamarie2012's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm sure it will get better. I swore that I was not going to be one of those people who said what did I do to myself? But I'm really not feeling well. And I'm surprised. -

Is "12" Days Enough
ShouldBlittler replied to overtheedge's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Emily. My required preop was only 5 days, and I pigged out until then. -
Hello everyone! My surgery was yesterday. It went really well and I have my gall bladder taken out at the same time. Last night was VERY rough. But today seems a lot better. Was this your experience? Yesterday I felt like I couldn't sleep enough. Today I CAN TELL THAT I WILL NEED TO SLEEP, BUT I KNOW I NEED TO GET UP AND WALK AROUND A LOT. JUST THOUGHT I'D CHECK IN. Sorry... Discovered the caps lock was on too late.

I am going in this morning, and I have to tell you, your post made my nerves lessen. Thank you! -
Hey everyone! My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday, 6/20. I am getting really nervous. I think the part that is really making me nervous is that I cannot imagine EVER not relying on food. (I cannot imagine not being able to entertain and soothe myself with food.) I'm wondering if it will work for me...

How is this work situation now?

I am June 20th in Pennsylvania. 7:30 AM. Nervous.

My husband has his surgery today. After many delays, he was finally taken back to surgery. The surgeon found some things that he wasn't expecting. Like apparently the hernia was bigger than they thought, and there was a lot to clean up from my husband's gall bladder surgery last year. Now he's through it, and after a very long surgery, he was just moved to his room. My surgery is slated for June 20. Now I am finding myself nervous. I saw other posts in the past of people who got nervous in the weeks before their surgeries, and I never thought that it would be me. But now I'm nervous, very nervous. Like, nervous about the permanency of the surgery. Considering calling it off nervous.... Does anyone have a hopeful story to share? Thanks in advance.

Cold Cold Cold Feet

Thanks everyone... I think I am a little afraid of the lifestyle change. I love food. I think I will miss that coping mechanism. Ugh. -
How Successful Was Your Surgery?
ShouldBlittler posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How successful was your sleeve surgery on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being not at all successful, 10 being as successful as you could ever imagine)? How do you rate the success of the surgery? How long ago was your surgery, and did you have different ratings throughout the learning process? Thanks in advance, Melissa -
