1st trip to Costco ... what should i get?
ShouldBlittler replied to Sunny702's topic in Food and Nutrition
Today I went to costco. One of the "demo products" was a new Protein shake powder that was the best I have ever had so far, by far! I recommend it highly. I came right home and whipped up a delicious chocolate shake that far surpassed any others I have ever had. (And I have tried many.) Please try it if you have the desire and motivation. I would be interested to know what others think. Here is the information from the Costco website: http://www.costco.com/Browse/ProductSet.aspx?Prodid=11758117&search=vitamin+shake+mix&Mo=1&cm_re=1_en-_-Top_Left_Nav-_-Top_search〈=en-US&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&Sp=S&N=5000043&whse=BC&Dx=mode+matchallpartial&Ntk=Text_Search&Dr=P_CatalogName:BC&Ne=4000000&D=vitamin+shake+mix&Ntt=vitamin+shake+mix&No=0&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Nty=1&topnav=&s=1 Nature's Bounty® Optimal Solutions® Complete Vitamin Shake Mix is a new and exciting way to get the nutrients you need. 30 Pounds In 61 Days
ShouldBlittler replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, (not to sound flip), but I have done it before. Those times that I did, it was just a matter of time until I started gaining it back... I guess that's kinda it: It feels like the old patterns. I am worried a bit because I want to make it to my goal (I guess slow is ok). My husband had the surgery on June 4th and has lost 76 pounds. Hard to be losing slowly and steadily beside him... 70 pounds to go... -

Teachers? Where Are The Teachers?

Has anyone gone back yet? Any interesting reactions? -
I had an appointment with my nutritionist yesterday. I told her that I was planning on having a protein bar for breakfast every morning. She told me that instead she would have a Greek yogurt. To me, the protein bars are way less in carbs, and high in protein. Does anyone use protein bars? What's your thought about my nutritionist's advice?

What does it feel like when you are full? I am now 6 weeks out and it seems to be an actual PAIN feeling? Is this correct?

Good luck!

Any news recently?
-
Thanks for posting. It was helpful.

Well, I called my surgeon's office. The nurse said that the office tries not to prescribe PPIs because they can cause stomach polyps.
-
I have heard people talk about using an acid-reducing medication. What are some generic and non-generic names for those acid-reducing medications? I am on something called famotidine. Is that a ppi?

Benign polyps? -
Why wouldn't Pepsid be as effective as Prilosec?
-
(crickets) anyone? What concerns me is the fact that it works so well , and yet is supposed to be limited...
-
I'm just a bit concerned because so many people here talk about taking a ppi. According to the box, it should only be taken for 14 days every 4 months. Medical people, any thoughts?
-
So now I have been taking omeprazole. All of the over-the-counter versions of the drug say in the warnings to do a 14 day treatment no more than every 4 months. Anyone know why? Anyone take it on a regular basis more frequently than every 4 months? Thanks!
