You think so? meat has not historically been my "thing." In fact, prior to surgery, I ate very little meat. I guess maybe dairy and such would get me to 80 pre-op. Still, why is the Protein so crucial?
-
I think the OP does have an interesting point: Before surgery, I am quite sure I was not getting 80 grams of Protein, and I did not notice any ill effects. What will happen if you are protein deficient, and why the great emphasis on it after surgery?

5 Confessions (Join In)
ShouldBlittler replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I confess that I cheat a little everyday and I need to stop that! I confess that this will be the first year that I am not dreading the season change due to not having clothes for the new season. I confess that I did not expect to still struggle daily with food concerns after surgery. I confess that I am always concerned about gaining it all back. I confess that I browse this site SEVERAL times a day. -
Teachers? Where Are The Teachers?

I agree with PEvette; two weeks will be ok. You just may have to come home at the end of the day and rest. -

When does the mirror reflect a loss?!?
ShouldBlittler replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I swear, the more weight I lose, the fatter I feel. When I weighed 75 pounds more, I didn't pay attention to my weight and told myself not to care. Now I see every bulge, ripple, and dimple... Now though, I like going shopping more... -
I have these same questions... I also am about 7 months out with 25-30 left to go. I am anxiously awaiting replies...

That must be horrifying! I am so sad to hear about this complication and I will be thinking of you. How far out from surgery are you? -

I see a difference. You are getting younger and younger... -
Just another suggestion: I would love to be able to have a ticker or some type of counter that I could add to my signature that calculates "Days since surgery..." Thanks.

Ticker Suggestion
ShouldBlittler replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
I have tried it, but it says it cannot do it for a past date... I'll try it again... -
Hello... I was just browsing through some old posts (using the "search" function), and I was thinking that it would be very helpful if near people's avatars on posts, if it would say, "Last posted on..." with the date of their latest post. It would help to know who is currently posting still, and who has moved on from the forum. Just a thought... Thanks.

Have you heard anything? I have been thinking about you... -
I hear your pain somewhat! Since December 1st or so, I have been fluctuating between 142-140 pounds! My body just is teasing me with the idea that I could be in the 130s!
