How much did you lose your first month out?
ShouldBlittler replied to luckysmomma's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I had my monthly follow up, they said the average at a month was 25 pounds and I was exactly at 25 then. It sounds like you are on track to me! -

Hi veterans! I had my surgery June 20, 2012. I started at a weight of 215 and I am five foot tall. When I began my weight loss, I set a goal for myself of 115 pounds. That was a weight I maintained for quite a while in college, and I was quite happy there. It was exactly a loss of 100 pounds, and i liked that nice round number. I am currently at 127 pounds, give or take. Since those skinny college days, I have had 3 children and 3 c sections... I cannot seem to get below that 127, and I work out every day and eat around 1200 calories each day. I have kind of big bones for such a short person, and i DO have a minimal amount of loose skin, maybe about 5 pounds worth... I am currently a size 2 or 4 petite pants, and a size small top. I feel good, look good, feel healthy... But I just cannot seem to get that 115 out of my head. I think I will feel like I failed if I do not see that 115! The surgeon's goal for me was 130ish, but I wanted 115 to have some wiggle room. Have you faced this "problem?" What did you decide to do? Your thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

From one eating disorder to another?

Oh my gosh! This is totally my struggle as well! I just posted something similar! I started at 215. I am 127 now, and I am 5 foot tall. I keep saying that I KNOW I am thinner because of the sizes I can wear, but I feel like I am maybe a 12, instead of a 2 or 4. I don't have any advice, but you are not alone in this! -
Is it really that impossible?

Just curious as to why the surgeon used a 56. Do you know why he/she used such a big bougie? -
So awesome! When did you have surgery?

I wonder if stress can make you retain water. I feel like ever since we've been going through this stress, I have been retaining water , Or maybe even gaining weight, but not really changing my diet very much.

Thank you... This is such pain that comes in waves. I just cannot believe it. I CANNOT believe it. Spatters3, I remember when you posted about being diagnosed. How is treatment going? How much longer to you have to endure treatment?

I totally struggle with this! But I have no answers, so I'm not sure what to offer.

Truthfully, our society is set up in a way that promotes obesity. Food companies add chemicals, crops are genetically altered, serving sizes at restaurants are huge. There are a million factors at play in obesity, and most are proving that it is nearly impossible to rally against it. -
