  1. Hello all, I am new to this forum. I was reading on another forum about the sleeve, and they maintained that many people regret the decision at around 10 years out. Anyone have opinions/thoughts about this? Thanks in advance!

    Pics

It is much easier to view before and after pics in a thread than it is in the gallery. Maybe there should be a forum just devoted to before and after pics? Just an idea... The pics are one of the things that motivate me the most and they are difficult to access them on here...

I'm sorry for your loss.... so so sorry.
  8. My husband and I are getting VSG at nearly the same time. He is getting his on June 4th, and I am getting mine on June 20th. We have 3 children who are 7, 6, and 4. Can you think of pros and cons of this? Anyone else get their sleeve at the same time to a spouse, relative, or friend? What was your experience? Thanks in advance!

    Lifting Question.

I am really really surprised that no one has a good answer for us. I am a mother of three. When will I be able to lift my kids? Anyone?

    Serious Debate On Post-Op Dieting

This is what I believed MUST be true! For me, the sleeve (I am scheduled for June 20th) will be a tool to change my relationship with food, not so much to limit my food CHOICES.

    Lifting Question.

I'm surprised there aren't more responses here. I'm sure there are others with active jobs. I'll just wait....

    Bougie Size

Does bougie size really matter? My surgeon says he uses a 36, but many people on here seem to have a 32. Does it matter? Please advise.

    Lifting Question.

I am anxiously awaiting responses to this! My husband is all police officer and needs to defend his own life sometimes. He has surgery June 4. When can he go back to work safely?

    Hypocrites

It could be a play. Try writing a short one-act.
  17. How, and why did you decide to get surgery? My husband was receiving physical therapy for a back injury that he got. The doctor there said on his last appointment, "You know you need to lose weight, right? I have a great bariatric surgeon that I could recommend." Now my husband and I have always struggled with weight. I said I would go with him to the first consultation. I was assuming that he would get a lap band. We both decided to get the sleeve that night. His surgery date is scheduled for June 4, and mine is scheduled for June 20. How did you come to your decision?

  22. Ok... my surgery date is June 20th. I know some people will tell me and warn me.... but I'm eating a bit like every meal is the last supper. What was you experience pre-surgery with eating?
  23. So.... they take out 85% or so of your stomach.... It should be ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE not to lose weight, right? (Although I realize that the goal here is to change your lifestyle) Why would you limit your food intake in addition to what the sleeve is doing already for you? I can imagine that as you get close to goal, you MAY need to restrict, but why would you do this initially after following your doctors' post-op diet? (Some other active threads got me to thinking about this.) I would think that the weight may come off more slowly if you eat as a "normal person" would, but still, I would think most WILL eventually come off. (If I am eating a half of a slice of pizza, as opposed to 4 slices that I can pack away now, I would lose weight.) I welcome your thoughts and experience on this. (My surgery date is 6/20/12.)
