I heard good things about chia seeds. I'm on day 3 of the liquid diet and I cheated. I had half a piece of cheese pizza and I licked a spoon of mashed potatoes while cooking them for my son....I definetly am more hungry today and have a head ache. Tomorrow will be better

Hi, I'm starting optifast on July 23 rd, but my husband is out of town for about 2 weeks before and during my liquid diet. He is home on July 27th and my daycare lady is having a free parents night out on the 27th....so I am wondering could I start my optifast on the 23th and then have my last meal out with my husband on the 27 th (only eating actually food for dinner that day) and then continue back on optifast on the 28th until surgery or will that mess up my program.... And I know its not my last meal for real, but my last normal one for a long while

My doctor says my goal weight should be 170, so I will feel good if I get to that. Which would be amazing since I haven't been under 200 in over 10 years. ***my first day of liquids went well

QOTD: I'm a teacher, so I have 3 weeks off after surgery before I go back to work and 4 weeks before the kids come back to school. I teach kindergarten so I am nervous about keeping up my energy and getting in all my drinks/foods during the day... ***I start my liquid diet tomorrow, OMG.

I don't plan on telling anyone but my mom, mother in law and husband. But my mom wants me to tell my sister...but my sister can't keep a secret and has burned me in the past revealing my secrets....my sister is bigger than me and wants to have surgery but never follows through with all the requirements so I know she is going to have hurt feelings when I have it done in 2 weeks...also I'm not sure what to do about my best friend. I don't mind if she knows but I know she will tell her mom and her brother and her boyfriend and I don't want all those people knowing.

I decide to look into surgery, because I had been thinking about it for a few years and finally at age 30, I decided it was time. I called to find out about the seminar it was that Saturday so I went. At the seminar I signed up for a consultation that next week and I joined and started my 6 mths. Honestly my doctor suggested the sleeve. At the seminar they said if you are a snacker or over eater then the band is not for you, and the sleeve seemed severe so I went in thinking bypass. Which I now know bypass is much more intense than the sleeve. But my doctor said he thinks I should do the sleeve and that I was not in need of bypass....and here I am about 2 weeks away from surgery now

I second that! I'm ready and excited and 100% commited and at peace. Does feel good. I'm a little nervous all the hospital testing will find something random and delay my surgery, fingers crossed that doesn't happen.....

My last meal...well I have 2. I had one this past weekend at my favorite steak place with yummy buns and chopped salad. Now my true last meal will be cheesecake factory chipotle pasta and of course a piece of chocolate cheesecake....do I have to have this before I start preop?

I have thin hair too and its shorter (like above my shoulders) so I'm totally freaked out that I'm going to look horrible. And I didn't really plan on telling everyone I had surgery, so what excuse can I use to explain my hair (I might have to start a new thread on this topic to see what excuses other people have used)....

Is it mainly thinning in the front or all over? I figure I might get clip in hair but what can u do if you loose all the hair in the front of your head.....I'm so nervous about this....

I have BCBS in VA and it took 3 days to get approval. My doctor said it could be any where from 2 days to 2 weeks. I was excited to hear back so soon Good luck.
