My 2Nd Nutrition Appointment- Waste Of Time And Money
pdog posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today I had my 2nd nutrition meeting on my 6mth journey and it was a waste of my time. They gave me a 10 page handout about exercise and my 19 year old dietian read each page outloud to me. Just wanted to vent that this meeting cost me $50 for nothing...these weight loss programs know how to make their money... Oh well -
My 2Nd Nutrition Appointment- Waste Of Time And Money
pdog replied to pdog's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, I'm still here too and made it through surgery. I had mine on August 6th with Dr. Moazzes or how ever u spell it (I knew a month ago), I had to change from Dr.Halmi because of scheduling. I stayed at Fair Oaks for 1 night, I could have stayed 2 but was ready to get home. Which my first night and day home were horrible. I was so nauseous I couldn't function. I finally got the patch to wear behind my ear and felt 100% better, so ask for that if u r feeling bad. I couldn't drink much for a few days. The first few weeks are different of course, but it does go by quick. About 5 weeks out I got really sick of mushy food, so week 6 I started back on real food, which has gone good for me. I actually am feeling better since having real food in my stomach. I still have a problem with getting in all my protein and all my fluids. Last week I think I was a bit dehydrated so watch out for that, I just tried to drink what I could. Right now gaterade light is my drink. It has changed like 3 times.... After care has been good for me, I agree they don't tell u anything you don't know already from these forums. I also am bad at taking all my vitamins everyday.... Now I'm terrified about my hair loss, its coming.... People r starting to notice more and I am noticing the weight loss more too, its nice If u have any ?s (anyone) or whatever, I check this site daily...and its nice to share with people from the same doctor group -

Any Teachers Who Have Been/getting Sleeved!
pdog replied to mommeof3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved Aug 6th and kids started Sept 5th, I teach kindergarten and the first week I was tired every night...I got side cramps at the end of each day. It helped me drink my water, because I was so thirsty from talking. Also if I don't have my protein shake before work, I feel weak and have an empty pain in my body. Lunch I have 30 min without kids, I have been eating in my room and taking the entire time to eat 3 Tbsp of food. -
I'm thinking of u and hope everything turns out ok and a speedy recovery

Eating Quickly W No Side Effects
pdog replied to doxieville's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can eat applesauce fast. I eat Mushed foods quicker than I probably should, but I can tell when to stop. I think reading the replies on the site about how bad overeating or throwing up can be have scared me to stop eating earlier than my brain says. -
The 1St Day I Ate Food For All 3 Meals!
pdog posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Today I actually ate food for bfast, lunch and dinner. It's the most I have had so far and the 1st time I have had meat. I'm almost 4 weeks out. For bfast I ate prob 2 1/2 Tbsp of egg beaters with a little bit of chicken broth to keep moist and a little bit of ketchup. Lunch was veggie bushes baked beans prob 2-3 Tbsp with 1 tsp of light sour cream, all quick blended till smooth and 3 Tbsp of applesauce. Dinner I did a pot roast in the crock pot and I quick blended half a piece, small, with some of the cooking sauce, it was like shredded small. And I tell ya everything was good and went down with no problem, I think I'm on my way....now if I can get all my vitamins in everyday... -

Could I Be Lactose Intolerant Now?
pdog replied to jennrus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 3 weeks out too and I have the same problem. It happens to me like every other day, right after I drink a premier shake, which is milk based. I also bought some calorie countdown choc. milk today, it has 6g of protein in 1 cup, and after 2 sips my stomach felt really yucky. I could drink it before. -

I didn't tell anyone at work either and I don't plan on it. I teach Kindergarten and I have an assistant, I plan on telling her I had gallbladder surgery. I am worried about going back and having energy to make it through the day and open house when all the parents are questioning you for hours... For the first few weeks I think I will be eating in my classroom, which is not uncommon in the beginning of the school year, I can say I just have so much stuff to do. Once I am more comfortable with eating I will try to eat in the louge again. But just like you said it will be weird, since I will be eating 4 Tbsp total! I am worried that I start my mushy food the week I go back... and getting all my Protein to avoid my hair falling out...so many worries -

I took a nap every afternoon to avoid sitting around eating... -
I'm a teacher too and that no water rule should be illegal! What if u keep it on the floor behind ur desk....

I also like the premier shakes, my vanilla ones are so sweet I have actually started to mix half vanilla and half chocolate to tone it down. I have read that people get sugar free coffee sryups and I was thinking of getting some to add to the vanilla shakes.

Nova Or Dc People... Who Like Nectar Protein
pdog posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi I have a 12 pack of nectar protein travel packs in roadside lemonade flavor. I know people like this one, but it didn't agree with me. I would like to see if some one else would like it. I paid 25 from amazon, if u would like it I would sell it for like 10 and meet u somewhere in Fairfax. There are 11 packets left. Thanks
