  1. Hey all I am a little over 6 months out was sleeved June 4th. I have lost 103 lbs. as of date. I know this is huge! No way I could have done this on my own. But I have only lost 3 lbs since election day. I'm gettin kind of bummed would really like to see onderland by new years. I am only 7 lbs away * sigh* my question I guess is this for all of you " old timers" does your body reach a set point and then slow down? I have been between 1000-1200 daily. I know I need to up my exercise too. Thinking about doing miss divas boot camp. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  2. I am not a doctor and you should always follow YOUR doctors advice. That being said I too had problems with "sips" I would sip too much air in while drinking out of a cup no matter how small my doctor said to try a straw. It worked wonders!! I would sip from a straw just enough liquid to fill the roof of my mouth and then swallow. Some doctors I read about on here advise against straws because of swallowing too much air but everyone is different so try a straw it couldn't be any worse than what your experiencing now. Good luck!!

  3. A normal day in the life of my sleeve usually looks something like this.

Breakfast: coffee with 2 tbs coffeemate Creamer and 1 tbs unflavored whey Protein

Mid morning snack: string cheese or Greek yogurt sometimes nutrisystem protein pretzels

Lunch: deli turkey meat and sliced Tomato and a slice of 2% American cheese

Dinner: usually whatever I cook for the family spaghetti sauce no noodles or green Beans and a turkey burger no bun with some cheese and a-1 sauce or hot dogs no Buns or just the taco meat and cheese. I always use extra lean beef or ground turkey.

Snacks: depending on my protein levels for the day I will have a shake with 30 grams of protein and I will not lie I still occasionally have a coke my surgeon says its fine but everyone should follow their own surgeons instructions :)

  4. Vw been doing a lot of reading about circuit training and cross fit workouts lately. I really wanted to join a cross fit center but it was 100 for 2 classes per week. So I just came up with my own circuit I did at home.

I started with 10 hard minutes on the elliptical. Basically sprinting by the end on 10/10 resistance and incline.

    Then....

10 modified pull ups (cause I can't do real ones)

    10 mountain climbers

5 barbell dead lifts with 135 pounds

    10 crunches

    10 pullovers with 35 pounds

    10 dumbell curls 20 pounds

    Then run 200 yards

Do that circuit 3 times with no rest. It took me 21 minutes' date=' I should be able to do it quicker next time now that I know what I'm doing.

I must say I was whipped. The best part is you can substitute any exercise. The key is no rest.[/quote']

Have you tried trx? I started trx classes at my local YMCA and I have never in all of my years done anything so hard! I have heard of cross fit but the closest center is a hour drive one way!

  5. I too entered hospital at 297 u look great I'm only 4 weeks out and at a stall :( what's the secret to your greatness? I'm trying everything

Honestly I just followed the program! Early out ( like at 2 weeks) I went on a long vacation with all of my family so I didn't weigh during that time. When I came back home and got on the scale I had only lost like 4 pounds those 2 weeks so I guess I wasn't aware I was in a stall. I just try and hit my Water and Protein and live life! When I hit 60 lbs lost I did kinda stall for a week or so and someone said to me what did you do hit 60 pounds and quit? I was furious! It lit a fire under my behind and I joined the YMCA honestly I am doing things I never dreamed possible!! I did a 5 k last weekend and have been doing trx classes( thought I was going to die the day after my first class I was that sore! If you don't know what trx is check it out on YouTube) not only am I doing these things I LOVE it! I get terribly irritated if I miss a workout! But just believe in your sleeve! The weight will come off! I never thought I'd be living life the way I am now before my sleeve I just existed. You will break your stall soon enough and that weight will be melting off your body! Just keep on keeping on!
