thats so nice. It's good when people are flexible! -
I notice the same thing! It made me smile. And now I'm like, obsessive about legshaving for this very reason. Because I CAN!

Want To Break Your Stall?
alexeleni replied to SleeveDreamer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
coffee ALWAYS helps me! It seriously is a major laxative now, somehow. -
Stalled Already ?!?!
alexeleni replied to daniellec's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is completely normal. Almost everyone stalls out in the 2nd-3rd week, so you are RIGHT on schedule. I lost 10 pounds my first week and then stalled for like a week and a half, but I am down over forty pounds (including my 10 lb pre-op loss) since surgery in late January. Don't worry! -
I had a morphine drip for the first 24ish hours. Once I got out of the hospital, I had liquid painkiller, but I literally took it only once. There was some pain but the gas was the worst...however, its all about 72 hours of crap and then it gets way better. Don't worry! You are strong enough to get through this.

I had a few at first, and then my skin cleared up and is now better than it's been in years! They'll pass.

AMAZING! Enjoy it!

Starbucks/ Panera Suggestions
alexeleni replied to susiegotsleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yeah, I eat the french onion soup from Panera--no croutons--all the time. It's a great choice. For Starbucks, I like an unsweetened passion tea lemonade. Delicious and like 35 calories for a tall. -
One way to make it lie slightly less is to step on it with something heavy in your hands (I use the magazine basket full of reading material and extra TP in the bathroom) and then step on it again a minute later to actually weigh yourself. Even the digital ones can get "stuck" at a number, so using this method helps them get "unstuck"--my dad told me his doctor had told him this, and I definitely find it happens on my scale (no way was I actually exactly 197.2 for four days, for example...) So, try that!

I DO get hungry, but I also get satisfied after just a couple bites, so I can always satisfy my hunger easily.

Not-Sweet Drink Suggestions
alexeleni replied to flourgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also like soaking ginger in water to infuse it (Cucumber also works, or a combination)--that gives a nice flavor, and then take out the ginger and drink! Also try herbal teas, iced or hot. -
I am CRAVING Indian food lately, so I came up with this less-terrible compromise. I don't like low-carb tortillas, but you could easily use them! (They make me throw up.) Protein powder without a problem.

I Haven't List Since January!
alexeleni replied to meggspeggs's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have also found that I lose, then stall, then lose, then stall. Make sure you're varying your food intake and exercise routine, and it WILL keep coming off. Slow is fine...you'll get there! -
Even at two weeks out, I had a couple saltines with creamcheese. It worked because I chewed SUPER slowly. Try that, maybe!

Protein Shakes Without Dairy
alexeleni replied to pussnboots's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Make them with water and the powder! Or, the Bariatric Advantage powders are great with coffee (the vanilla one with coffee is pretty much like a latte.) You could also make them with Crystal Light or even iced tea! -
GOOD, we should really all be doing that.

I find different Targets have different quantities of clothes in general and plus in particular--try a different Target, maybe! Seriously, though, that's stupid.
-
YAY that is so fantastic! Congrats! I made it there myself and then promptly stalled out for a week. But I am trying not to get discouraged because it's such a huge milestone.Congrats again!

I Can Smell Everything! And Everybody Is Annoying Lol
alexeleni replied to tasherie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the SAME problem with smells, especially food smells, and I can never know which ones will be good and which ones will be terrible, and it can vary! One day, Indian food smells amazing, the next, I want to die if I smell it. Same for burger-type patties, italian food, even turkey (like the deli meat) and sometimes, eggs, too. It's weird! -
Smoky Chipotle Turkey Burgers! (And My Cooking Blog)
alexeleni posted a topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
So, a little explanation. One of my challenges is that I really want to make this a lifestyle, and not make it feel like a diet. So I am trying to eat small portions of sensible food, but not deprive myself. This fits in really well with the fact that I LOVE to cook and also that I cook for my fiancee, who loves to eat! But cooking is super-hard to motivate myself for sometimes, since I can eat so little.... ....so I started a blog. The recipes are mostly healthy (and even the decadent ones include modifications you could use to make them lower calorie), but are not "diet food." It's food for real people with or without sleeves, and I put in the nutrition facts. Last night, I made smoky chipotle burgers with 99% lean ground turkey and managed to actually make them moist and yummy, so I thought I would share (the secret is ricotta cheese, believe it or not.) Here's a link to my recipe with nutrition info, photos, etc: http://savorysweetie.com/smoky-chipotle-turkey-burgers-with-cooling-creamy-salsa/ I hope that if you're interested you'll read my blog and comment, as well! I'm just starting off and would love some readers . The more support I can get for all parts of this journey, the better off I feel, and cooking is definitely a big part of the journey that's a change for me! -

My lime was REALLY small, I think that must be the difference. Glad you liked! -
Fage 2% Peach Yogurt!

Hello! First of all, good luck on the preop diet! I used the Bariatric Advantage Protein powder shake mix, which I hated, and Isopure powder, which is AWESOME. I put it in everything. Stock up also on Soup (broth only, probably, depending on your doctor), popsicles, and jello!

I am using MFP pretty consistently and exercising, though that is what I am going to try to increase! I know my food intake is ok.

I was literally just coming here to post something like this. I am 2 months out today and have lost only 7 pounds in the second month! I am so disappointed, but I am doing what I'm supposed to. Is it always going to be like this now? I am really discouraged today....
