Carnie Wilson - 2Nd Wls - Gastric Bypass To Lapband? Huh?
cissiesue replied to former_vbg's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
There is also a newer procedure I'm that they go down your throat and "tighten up"(make smaller) the pouch that you get from bypass, I would think this would be a very simple outpatient surgery, and a more viable option than the lap band. It is perplexing to think that with her money, she would be able to put herself in better hands, that would give her more sensible answers -
There is a product called ideal protein, you usually have to get it through a Dr, but I see they sell it on ebay. I went on the "ideal protein" diet nov 2009, and by early Feb 2010, I had lost 65 pounds! I lost my job soon after, and couldn't afford the diet, and gained it all back plus plus! But it works and is highly assimilable, quality protein. I still have some, and I'm going to use it after surgery. It comes in all different types, like chocolate pancakes, drinks, omlets, etc. most of it is very good. Check it out

May 4Th With Dr. Kelly Confirmed Anyone Else? Also Preop Diet Info?
cissiesue replied to kansasgirl's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I'm not going for a month after you, but I'm seeing Dr Kelly, and I have been dieting for over a week and have lost 4 pounds so far! Hoping to be down 20 pounds by surgery! I downloaded "my fitness pal" onto my phone, and it created a calorie amount to follow daily (also protein, fats, carbs etc). I have not tried the protein shots you are talking about, but I've read that your body can't process more than about 25g at a time, so maybe just use half at a time. Wishing you an ready surgery and recovery -

Egg Salad For Egg Day?
cissiesue replied to cab0ad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take the yolk out, and chop up the white part. Then, I mash the cooked yolk in a bowl, add mayo/mustard and a bit of salt and pepper until you have a thick, creamy mixture. Add the cooked egg whites, and stop together. I'm sure one egg will be all you can get down. I'm just concerned about the mayo upsetting your new tummy, let me know how it goes! -

Delby, if my funds don't come in on the 5th of June, I just may change my date and go with you! -
I try to never add salt if I can help it. Its "hidden" in so many things. I use Mrs Dash, and it gives good flavor that I can handle! I try to never add salt if I can help it. Its "hidden" in so many things. I use Mrs Dash, and it gives good flavor that I can handle!

I think Dr Kelly should certainly be on you're short list! He has over 14 years in bariatrics alone! He's been performing the sleeve surgery alone (not with the DS) for over six years. He does two leak tests while in surgery, and one two days later. He operates out of a very legit hospital, that has a full icu, and all the regular things you expect in a high quality facility. Your companion is given a double bed right in your room, and from what i've been told by several patients of his, that he abs his wife personally oversee your care, and your post-op care, Not a coordinator! His email address is wls-clinic@hotmail.com, and his number is 619-793-4869. His assistant is Anaid, very nice and helpful! I've never had to wait more than an hour for a response, even on weekends. Good luck in your search! -
Dr. Kelly Preop Diet Ideas?
cissiesue replied to mrsteacher's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
It's listed on his diet, so I would say yes. But i'm sure it means little or no butter in the potatoes, and plain oatmeal. There is that instant oatmeal that they eat on the biggest loser, i'm going to look into that. I'm going to do all liquids for the last the days, just to shrink my liver as much as possible. I've stated at 90 days out, by using the "my fitness pal" app on my phone, and it gives you a calorie number to follow, and I've lost 2 pounds in five days, so maybe you could try that if you still have time before your 7 day pre op diet. I traded one meal a day for a pure Protein shake daily! Just thought it would help my transition to be easier once the pre-op came into play! Wishing you a great outcome. When are you having surgery?
