So after 2-3 weeks of painfully slow weight loss this week I lost none. Despite moving more and strictly watching my food/ water/ Vitamin intake. I was banded in Oct and I thought I'd be losing much faster than this. I can't help but feel that this is going to fail just like all of my other efforts. I am so bummed... I have had 1 3.5cc fill and have another fill scheduled in Jan. some time. Tonight I way over ate and ate 3 Cookies too. Really down lately. It seems like no matter what I do, I'm not seeing progress. How do you get your mind and body back in the game?

My partner had "strings" sticking out of her port scar right after surgery. The surgeon said the make up of some people's body doesn't interact well and the sutures don't disolve. He snipped them in the office. Don't pull them!!

I've used the Water trick before when feeling hungry and I think i'll try it again. I don't really have much of a sweet tooth they were just really delicious Cookies (my favorite kind) I've been really stressed lately... maybe stress eating? I havent been strict in tracking my food lately... I think partly because myfitness pal is hard to use because I normally eat much less than the programs standard serving and I'm left doing weird math and getting frustrated and giving up. No time like the present to start over I suppose... Thanks for the advice/ encouragement.

Not yet, just ordered them. Fingers crossed!!

I was told the same thing, more vitamins, more protein and that I could try biotin if I wanted. It's scary to see so much hair fall out...
-
I have thin hair that is falling out too! I was banded in Oct. My doctor suggested more Vitamins (I was very deficient), more Protein and Biotin. I haven't gotten the biotin yet. I certainly hope it stops because grad school has been giving me gray hair, I don't need to have the rest fall out on top of it http://thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com/

what to expect for first fill?
Ms. Blue replied to Peaceful1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't vomit. The numbing medicine stung but I didn't feel the fill needle at all. I did feel a neat sensation in my band, like a little hug or squeeze as the Fluid went in. Afterwards I felt a little tight but that's it. Easy!! http://thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com/ -

How is everyone doing? I feel like I've stalled a little bit. I definitely need to up the exercise. I've been walking a lot more and taking the stairs instead of elevator but clearly that's not enough. I haven't had anyone notice my weight loss so that's been a little disheartening... I feel like I might need my second fill (I have 3.5 cc) Anyone else? I've also updated my blog and will try not to neglect it, it's good for me to blog and really think about using the band correctly. http://thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com/ -
I take centrum complete chewables. Orange flavor, i get them on subscribe and save via amazon and it's pretty cheap. They taste ok and dont make me feel sick like other vitamins i've tried. I also do a liquid B-12/folic acid and chewable calcium with D and a separate D3. I get the chewables from gnc and they're good!

I stalled for a few weeks after surgery but I think I'm in a good groove now. I lost 5.5 lbs last week and so far I've lost 3 lbs since last Friday. Today when I weighed without shoes I moved the bar to the 250 and not the 300 for the first time in I don't know how when. I'm barely below 300 but dammit I'm below! I feel really great about that. Still can't tell much weigh loss yet but the scale doesnt lie. Just had to share. I've also updated my blog, It's more humorous than helpful thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com -

Hi guys! Hope everyone is doing well. I just bought a new set of storage containers (they're great) and I wanted to share. I got them on a one day 40% off sale, even though they're totally worth full price it might be worth checking to see if they run another sale. This set included like 4 larger sized containers and all of the small ones are tiny! It's perfect for band sized meals (taking my chicken salad in a 'normal' sized container was looking ridiculous. I took chance beause it was hard to tell from the pics but all of those small circle and square containers are the perfect size. My (also banded) partner was making fun of me for being excited when I ordered them but she was impressed with them and we recycled all of our old ones. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0054PHHES/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 -

I finally posted about my surgery day and am working on my first two weeks. My blog isn't one of those super helpful blogs, it's more my attempts to document my experiences with humor http://thefatgirlthin.blogspot.com/2012/10/surgery.html -

Had my surgery Monday 10/8 and was back to work this monday. Towards the end of the day I feel tired and a little sore but I'm glad to be back and every day I feel a little better. I feel tight in the morning so I've been doing Protein shakes with 3-4 oz of Water. Which makes them thick but it's been working. And I dont want any judgment but I moved on to soft and purreed food. I eat things like chicken salad- finely minced grilled chicken and low fat mayo, tuna salad and small curd cottage cheese. I really started feeling better after I worked these more solid foods in. I've been feeling great and have lost approx. 8 pounds since surgery. Anyone else back to work-- how is it going? I also noticed stress makes my band and stomach feel tight-- anyone else? -
I was nervous too. I'd never had surgery before. I woke up and they were taking me to a recovery room. At first I was in a lot of pain but immediately the nurses asked me to rate my pain and gave me meds. Once the meds kicked in I started to clear up a little and it was fine. Just try to stay calm because getting yourself worked up makes it worse. I was back to surgery at 7 am and home by noon.

Today is my first day back to work . I got up extra early because my band is really tight in the morning and I've been having problems with nausea in the am. So far so good.

Realize Band 10/10/12
Ms. Blue replied to AnnLouise's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Call your surgeon? I have a realize brand band and I got a card much like the one posted above. It says realize band on the front and has my serial number and surgeons name and date of surgery and stuff. I'm supposed to put it in my wallet and show it to medical providers. My doctor uses both bands but prefers realize but will use lap band upon request or if you need the bigger size available in lap band. -
Congrats. So exciting! Do you have a preop diet?
