Any Pre Sleevers Near Bellingham Washington
tjmom replied to felinakay's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am in Bellingham WA also. I am not in the position for hiking but will love to read about your adventures....Reason i am not in the position to hike, is due to all my health issues. At this time i am still in a wheel chair more than out, but that is changing as the weight comes off...maybe next year! -

Surgery Was The Best Thing In My Life!
tjmom replied to Diablowizzard's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Fantastic progress...i can't wait to walk a mile....seems out of reach but i will push forward... Thank you for sharing your story... -
Here's the thing....i was doing great....then we decided to host a BBQ this Saturday.... I am disabled, so i am not around other people..unless i choose to .... i have hid behind my weight all my life...((my husband asked me once, "if you could be ANY action hero. Who would you want to be?"....my response, without hesitation "The invisible man".... In the past, when we have had a BBQ ... Due to my weight, i could pretty much be invisible...My husband is the social one.. ...but i am worried that my weight loss is going to be a topic of conversation...and people are going to be wanting to "talk" to me all afternoon... So....i have been eating foods and NOT putting them on MFP .... And/Or telling my husband what i ate during the day... It depresses me that i so easily returned to bad habits so quickly....my sleeve will be 8 weeks old on Wednesday...and i have gained 3 pounds.... i am hoping by posting this thread, i will shame myself into getting back on track... Thank you for letting me tell on myself...

Nervous And Worried I Won't Be Able To Commit
tjmom replied to Patrick Curl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Patrick....i am 8 weeks post-op today... I too loved chocolate, ok, i loved everything .... i am 5'3" and starting weight was 328.... Like mentioned above, talking to people who had the surgery, helped me (some)... what i didn't really understand was "head hunger"... after surgery i have not been hungry... I use the clock to tell me when to eat.... BUT .... There are times i think/thought i smell French fries or chocolate cake baking or bread cooking! i know they were/are NOT in the house but my mind "remembers" those things. (and more).... it gets easier, the brain starts to remember your smaller stomach more than old foods...((((i hope i am explaining this so you may understand...haven't tried to put into words before))))... is it worth all the doubts and questions ? Heck yes! pre-op and post-op combined i am down 78 pounds!!! if you need to talk, we are here to help you through this and any other issues that come up... -

Twisted and Randi.....yes there is so much to learn and so much to unlearn .... Everyone has different "signals" to know we are close to: one bite to much/lay down awhile..... For me, when i feel like i ""need to take a drink of something or i can't eat another bite"" that is my signal... Full! ... it took me 6 weeks to figure this out... Be patient with yourself, you will find your "signal".

Hitting the "reset" button in my brain helped so much...just writing this down was so important... Talked to my psych doctor yesterday afternoon...that helped me accept some hidden issues...due to my disability he did a phone visit because i didn't have a ride to office... Thank you all for your words of support....
-
Sending healing prayers your way, my friend .... I am very proud of your attitude and strength....
