Cheri Congratulations! How exciting ! To both of you beautiful pregnant ladies: I have two (2) daughters and seven (7) grandchildren.. The greatest reward of being a parent is becoming a grandparent...I will be following this "pregnancy" thread...positive loving thoughts sent your way....I love all things about babies ! tjmom/ Sandy -
Kelly, i was sleeved on May 2 and i understand what you are saying... i lost most of my weight the first 5 weeks ... Up a few down a few...seems like the last month i have been playing around with same 4 pounds... Very frustrating ! Lets support each other, as we almost share the same sleeve date... Are you on My Fitness Pal? if you are, add me as a friend and maybe when you "view diary" you will have some suggestions for me.... MFP username is Sandy0424..

Out to dinner in the liquids diet i would choose Soup... In the puree stage i would choose soup again (as stated, all places have soup) ... In the mushy stage i would choose shrimp or fish... My husband and i have gone to Applebees a few times and he gets the parmesan shrimp and steak dinner. He eats the steak, 1/2 parmesan shrimp and potato or rice pilaf and i eat 1/2 the parmesan shrimp and veggies.... so if your date does not know about your surgery and you are in the "eat anything you want" stage. Then order a smart choice and just remember you will have a few more meals out of your dinner. If you feel like he is going to question your "lack of appetite" just mention you had a late lunch. Don't let the sleeve stop you from enjoying yourself ... You will be eating this way for the rest of your "healthier" life.

Good to hear from you New_Hope and Kat1....been awhile for me too... NewHope i agree with Kat1, baby spoon bites...also allow time between bites.... Kat1.....i am sorry still a long road ahead of you...lean on me if you need more support... I get the empty tummy feeling, still not easy for me to figure out all the different feelings.... I found out today that the $1600.00 i paid to have an agreement with a NUT in Edmonds to come see me (and all other clients in the area) here in Bellingham, was all for not.... The NUT center will no longer be driving the 90 minutes to Bellingham to see clients .... I can either do phone chats, skipe or i can drive down there.... So, to say the least i feel like they are no longer holding up their end of the agreement... I feel abandoned....

This Entire Time I Thought I Was Alone
tjmom replied to mixcivongore's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Using the pre-surgery time to ready yourself is so important....mina is so right.... As far as age....oh my i wish the sleeve had been available when i was young... Been obese my entire life... Tried all the diets out there, lost weight and then gained more for years....became unhealthy and unhappy.... I turned 59 on April 24 and sleeved May 2, 2012...look out world, Sandy is being reborn! I am SO glad you are taking control at your age... Good luck sweetie...we are here for you! -
I too was taking Metformin, Glyburide and same amount of Byetta every day.... Even WITH all those meds, the week before my surgery my A1C was 10....went off all meds 3 days before surgery .... By the time i left the hospital after surgery, blood sugar levels way down... 4 weeks after surgery my A1C was 6.6 (without ANY diabetes medicine)... I believe my surgery is already a success because no more diabetes meds ...and the weight loss is the bonus...
