@kiki...my daughter has a friend that is early twenties...she was sleeved then got pregnant soon after...ate every no no...did everything wrong...after baby went back to eating all wrong...and is now 300 something again...she heard I was getting sleeved and wanted to tell me her story. She feels the sleeve would've been an awesome tool had she used it instead of misusing it...she also ate till she was sick...till she felt the sleeve wasn't really working anymore. Her story is rare but true.

I eat for the same reasons...mostly emotional stuff...food is my friend. This liquid diet has forced me to control myself. And I am glad for it...I have been making small changes the last few mths getting ready for surgery and the small changes have helped...so I intend to keep doing that! The funny thing about preparing for this surgery and after is that whatever problems you had with food that you were ignoring before now jump out at you screaming, refusing to be ignored anymore...so you can either address them...or be friends with them and hurt your sleeve and yourself. I am choosing A!!!

Valerie, how r u feeling on the liquid diet? I am on day 2...feeling weak today. Wasn't so bad yesterday...today a little worse...

I went to the hosp today and went over all restrictions and the nurse assured me that my nail and toe polish was not a problem...which is nice since I just got them done...its whatever!!

Yes I didn't mind at all...I also want to make sure I am doing things right and if she hadn't said something I would've kept drinking the wrong stuff!

I was weighed at check in with the surgeon this morning!! Don't scold me!! LOL @ Wheetsin!! I am actually a big advocate of not "scale watching"...but the nurse weighed me and saw I gained a lb...and was grilling me about whether or not I was following protocol...which I am!! I actually just looked at the back of my protein shake bottle and it has too many grams of carbs...mine has 16 and the NUT said to keep it under 10...so I am going to the Vitamin Shoppe here shortly...I have to get my weight re checked thurs or fri because of the gain so I hope the water retention reverses itself by then!!

Here's a question...I started the pre op liquid diet yesterday...I gained a half of a pound?? And I don't seem to have to pee as much as I thought I would?? What gives?

I don't know where introductions are even posted? Like whoch thread? I stay in the pre op thread mostly because I am pre op...then post op to see what its going to be like after I am sleeved...sorry you felt left out! It wasn't intentional!!

I took a bath shortly after having gall bladder surgery yrs ago...laid back to wash my hair and then used my core muscles to sit up...worst mistake ever...I agree...don't use the tummy muscles for a while!!

Wheetsin I have had that happen, the part where they stick u a billion times...its hurts!! I am sorry that happened to u!
