I never even thought of Popsicles! Great idea. I may have to give shakes another chance. I drank them prior to my surgery two years ago, but could not stomach them after the surgery.

Hi to all! Sue here, from Nevada. I am 65, had my surgery March 23, 2012, feel so much better, but still have some weight to lose. Congratulations to all of you who have made this wonderful decision! My biggest problem right now is ME! Since I have to graze, I make some bad choices as to what to graze on! Hence, I do not get my protein in. ???? I love crunchy things, and guess what is crunchy? Not protein! ???? Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations!

Well, so much for my fasting this past Saturday or any day so far! But the good news is my husband is going to do this with me, so tomorrow we will do the grocery shopping. And then move forward.
-
Thank you for the recipe! And for the encouragement from so many of you. Tomorrow, fast day #1!

We are still in vacation mode, but heading home on Saturday, which may be a good day for my first fast. I am not usually hungry while driving. Anyway, do most of you spread out your fast days, rather than back to back? And FYE, how do you make your SF pudding? Thanks!

New Goals for the New Year?! :) Before and after pics.

There are many things I would like to do! First, get back to the protein, veggie, fruit order of eating. I love crunchy food, but that usually means chips and/or crackers! Not a good choice for me. Second, begin the 5:2 way of eating. -
Thank you for compiling this great information. Sounds like just what I need. My surgery was nearly 2 years ago, had no major problems, lost a bunch....Lately, I find myself eating mostly carbs, even though they usually do not agree with me! Time to get back to a healthy, clean, protein-filled way of eating!

Pls Pray My Early Release Superannuation
Jswilbur replied to Lavea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I just had to look this up! From Wikipedia: Superannuation is a retirement (including pensions) program in Australia. It has a compulsory element whereby employers are required by law to pay an additional amount based on a proportion of an employee's salaries and wages (currently 9%) into a complying superannuation fund. Praying for you! -

In defense of men.....I have a saint for a husband, and I thank God for him daily. We take care of my Dad and and Mom, with Dad needing changing, lifting in and out of bed, etc. While I was recovering, he did all this, took care of me, did the laundry, etc., etc. Perhaps this comes from being a bachelor, but I give his Mom much credit, as she raised her boys to be self-sufficient. Having said this, I realize it all men were raised this way! It boils down to communication. It is nice to see men chime in here, too!
