MY husband and I went shopping the other day for something for me to wear right after surgery. All I have is pj's, and I don't imagine they will be too comfy on my incisions. Anyway, I am leaning towards a couple of house dresses, but my husband thinks the snaps may rub against the incisions. So I didn't get either yet! Any thoughts on this HUGE dilemma! LOL!

Congratulations! I will be joining you next Friday!

Has anyone tried other types of Protein powders, such as hemp, brown rice, goats milk, quinoa? I occasionally buy from Azure Standard, and most of their protein powders are from these other ingredients. Just curious! Sue

Anyone Tried Bio Oil For Stretch Marks
Jswilbur replied to andi0120's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My granddaughter has used it since the dat she found out she was pregnant. It has prevented stretch marks. As far as getting rid of ones that are already there, I am not sure if anything can do that! -

Prayers For Sleeve 4 Me

Most definitely I am and will be praying for her. -
Welcome, Jody! I am relatively new here and have to say it is a wonderful group of people! Plenty of wisdom, encouragement, and accountability. I will be sleeved on March 23rd.

My surgeon gave me a list of required tests, which I took to my PCP. When he got the results, he forwarded them to the surgeon, along with the signed release for surgery.

I am under the HPN of Nv plan, and my PCP is Dr. Metcalfe in Henderson. He didn't really comment much on my decision, but was very accommodating in ordering all the necessary tests. This helped keep my cost own as I chose to self-pay rather than jump thru the insurance hoops!

"5. Yogurt with a pack of those Bel Vita breakfast cookies; this is more of a "full" meal, logging at 360 calories, but it's a good size to totally fill me up--usually I can't quite finish the last cookie or all the yogurt." How are the Bel Vita's? Are they soft? I have been looking at them for my 84 yo Mom, who eats barely enough to keep her going.

My 84year old Mom just does not like to drink Water, so I put drops in her water. They are called ReHydration by Energetix. I am thinking I will start using them for myself, especially post-op. Here is a link: http://www.healthegoods.com/rehydration-2-ounce-energetix.html Of course I am not saying to use these in lieu of more liquids, but they could help to keep dehydration at bay. I am not offering any medical advice, only knowledge based on experience! Sue

Continued Waffling On Whether To Follow Thru With Surgery Or Not
Jswilbur replied to Mamamia59's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I hit send too soon. The 'vsg' surgery, not 'veg'! Also, I would like to add, how many times have you had a dr or nurse say to you, "This will only hurt a bit, you might fill a pinch, or this won't hurt at all!". I will go to my surgeon for the surgery, but listen to those who are ahead of me on this journey for helps, hints, prayers, and encouragement! Sue -
Continued Waffling On Whether To Follow Thru With Surgery Or Not
Jswilbur replied to Mamamia59's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are in the right place! My drs office highly recommended this particular website/forum since I have chosen the veg. They also recommended obesityhelp.com, but I prefer this one. Anyway, I believe the best non-technical info we can get is from those who have had the surgery. I have found people on here to most open and honest about all their experiences, good and bad. When I chose to have surgery, which I will have on March 23rd, I knew it was important for me to read all the pros and cons. -

Smoking After Gastric Sleeve Surgery
Jswilbur replied to mommamea's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When my husband and I quit drinking 21 years ago, he was advised by his doctor to not try and quit smoking at the same time....just too much stress on his body at one time. Like Geri said, I believe this principle will be the same no matter what the addiction is. And, yes, I was a smoker, too. We all agree on one thing.....smoking is unhealthy......even most smokers believe this, but it is a very strong addiction. Who is to say one addiction is better or worse than another? Smoking just happens to be a hot topic, because of the "political correctness". If I still smoked I would look for a natural organic cigarette. IMHO it is the additives in the cigarettes that are the killers and not necessarily the tobacco. IMHO! -

Ohmigosh! What a beautiful transformation! Keep it up! -
Since I have not been sleeved yet, I am not qualified to answer your question. However, I just read in my information, I am allowed to take Tylenol for minor aches and pains. Doesn't help much, I know! This is probably a good question for your dr.
