This is what I was told when mine got super heavy & longer. Far cells contain estrogen. When you burn far, the estrogen is bring released into your body. Fluctuating hormones can cause all kinds of problems. I ended up having a hysterectomy, but that was only after other treatments didn't work. You may want to take a pregnancy test to confirm you are not prego just to be safe. I wouldn't stress over it too much since you are only a couple weeks post op. Good Luck with everything!

I took 2 weeks off. I'm an admin. I didn't need that long but really needed the mental break. My husband had his on Friday & went back on Tuesday. He works in a call center at a help desk. He wishes he would have taken an additional day off just to get a little rest.

1 Week In Any Ideas On Meals To Be Pureed?
kadeez replied to deanne21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My fav was Refried Bean soup. Keep in mind, I hate beans of any kind, but this tasted like real Mexican food & had flavor! Mix/puree: 1 can of refried beans 1 can of chicken broth 1 can of rotel Heat it up & enjoy! I would add a small scoop of fat free sour cream to it also. -
When Can You Lie On Your Stomach?
kadeez replied to SashaWLS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I laid on my stomach appx 3 days after surgery. In the meantime, I laid in my side with a small pillow under my stomach. That tricked my body into thinking I was sleeping on my stomach. Good luck to getting a restful night of sleep. -
Curious As To How Much People Have Lost With Their Pre Op Liquid Diet.
kadeez replied to Brttnyj89's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 19lbs & my husband lost 30 lbs. Each person is different & each preop diet is different. Good luck! -
Secret Foods That Has Made Your Journey Easier?
kadeez replied to okiekatt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love the MIO Sweet Tea. If I have a sore throat, I mix it in with hot Water. I find it at all the local grocery stores & Walmart. -
The Today Show just had a segment about teenagers getting bypass, sleeve & lapband surgery performed. The teen in the segment was getting the sleeve. Personally, I think most teenagers don't have the appropriate mindset for this big of a change. I know when I was an overweight teen, I was nowhere near ready for this type of decision. I'm curios as to what everyone's thoughts on this is.

Honk, I know I definitely had emotional eating issues also. I'm still trying to get to the bottom of them. A friend of mine recommended a great book that I am working through now. It's called Women, Food & God. It's for men & women both. Don't be afraid of the word God either. It's more about finding your own spiritual connection to help you whether it be God or meditation or any other means. It has definitely made me think quite a bit & do a lot of self reflecting.

Kassie, I agree. Once you are old enough to vote, you are old enough to make educated decisions.

After you get clearance from your Dr., you could also try one of those handbikes. You put it on the table & pedal with your arms or on the floor with your feet. I first saw them on Dr. Oz & saw them at Walmart for $30.

I agree! I asked my surgeon about this today when I saw hum. He said the band isn't FDA approved yet for adolescents. There are studies being done for it. He thinks bypass & the sleeve are too much for them & that the lapband is a much better & safer choice. We've all seen a lot of people that have had bypass & gain weight back. Many adolescents that are overweight are eating out of emotional issues or family issues. Those need to be dealt with before a surgery is done.

I was banded on the 23rd. I have read several comments from people stating the band works better with warm foods in the morning, along with my surgeon saying the same thing. With that being said, I go back to work in a week. I plan on visiting the gym before I go. I have an hour drive to work & would live to be able to drink my breakfast in the car. Does anyone have any tips or ideas you can recommend?

I HATE manually tracking food & calorie counting on pen & paper. What app do you use to track food & exercise? I go back to work next week & would like an easy way to track this to monitor progress so I have an accurate log to discuss with my surgeon for fills.

I was banded on 3-23 & had a hiatal hernia repaired also. I have nicknamed my swollen belly (where the incisions are) Bandit! Lol. I feel & look like I'm prego all over again. Is this normal? The area is still very sensitive & I don't have any gas pains. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm clearly ready to deliver Bandit for good! Lol Katy

So my swelling has finally gone down except at the large incision site. I look like I have a cone protruding out of my stomach! Anyone else have this? I've been sick with a nasty cough. I'm really hoping & praying I didn't do any damage. My follow-up appt is Wed morning.

Apparantly, I've used it before because I had a user is & last logged into it in 2010! Lol. I don't know how to add people. Feel free to add me. My username is Kadeez. I definitely need the accountability part of it. Does anyone know what the real website is for the computer?

I had these too & only had them on my upper abdomen where my incisions are. I was banded on the 23rd & they are just now going away. They never really itched or anything, so I just figured they were a reaction to the adhesives on the bandages they used which I have had before.

I Love Reading Stories, Helps Me So Much
kadeez replied to Kristie_melvin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on the 23rd. My Dr. gave me the ok to take phazyme. It is a stronger soft gel for gas. That & walking has helped me the most! I agree....I want so badly to get clearance from the Dr. so I can start exercising! I'm ready! Good luck! -

I'm so glad I'm not the only one & this is normal. My husband was insisting something was wrong, even though I knew there wasn't!
-
Thanks! My husband was banded on the 8th & had virtually no swelling! I guess he's just a fast healer! Do you know when we can start putting an anti-scar cream on. They are really ugly looking.
