Jepegurl- I am a woman. I am 5'8 and started this at 350lbs. I burn on average about 3200 calories a day. I wear a link armband, so I am confident in my calorie burn. I work out 4-5 times a week and have been tracking my food and water religiously since January. I also weigh daily.

I am down 24 lbs since being banded. I was also banded on the 19th. I try to get between 1000-1200. If I do too many days below that I stop losing. The other big thing for me is water. I have to drink at least 72 oz a day or I don't lose. It seems like I am on the high side of the calories. I don't know how others are getting by on so few.

Thanks! I was starting to worry about it. It seems to come and go. I have my follow up appointment on Monday, so I will be able to ask the Dr.

I had my surgery on the 19th. I started feeling a lot of burning around my port when I am walking around. I can make it stop if I put pressure on it with my hand. Has anyone else had this?

DebraG- That sucks!! I am sorry. I totally understand. I have been there. It is horrible to get your hopes up and then have them smashed. It took me seven years before I was able to have the surgery done. Keep your head up. If you are able to go to Mexico, do it. Don't worry about what others say. It isn't their body and they don't know what this strugle is like. I have read a lot about lap band with plication. It is suppose to have the quick weight loss of bypass, but the adjustability of lap band. I had thought about doing it, but was so worried about having to start the whole process over again with insurance. I too have bcbsil. Good Luck with your journey!!
