I'm embarrassed to say... I went to the doc's on Monday and found out that it's my port! Doh!! Yep, I've lost enough weight that I can feel it just by running my hand over my skin, not even pressing. The doc says I have nothing to worry about, just to brag LOL

I was glad to see so many of you able to swallow pills. I've been getting killer head aches and been too afraid to try to take whole pills. My doc said liquid caps should be okay, so I finally got some today. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm trying to not worry about it, but of course the mind always goes to worst case scenario.

Get a good food processor and you can mush up anything you're already serving to your family.

I agree with the previous poster, if it's mental hunger the Spanx could help...

Omg! I Just Screwed Up!
cfalbro replied to Kami76065's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll be okay. Just ride it out and remember for next time : ) -
I would say yes, as long as you make sure all of the beans are mashed up well and you don't get any whole beans. Be careful with the hot sauce though, I've heard some people say that they don't do so well with spicy stuff post op.

Banded For Two Years 1/2 And Haven't Met My Goal!!!
cfalbro replied to italia2020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can totally do this. You've recognized you have a problem and that's the first step. Maybe you could spend a week eating whatever you want, knowing you're going to get back on the wagon and spend that time getting excited, like you did before you got the band. And then do exactly what you did when you first started. I did a week of liquids and 2 weeks of mushies. Maybe after that it would be time for a fill : )) -
This No Drinks During And 30 Minute B4 & After Meal Rule Is Harder Than I Thought
cfalbro replied to Laney5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like most others, i struggle with it, but ALWAYS obey the rules. I didn't get this band just to keep doing what I've always done and see no results. I've done every single thing that the doc has told me to. You just have to get in the mind set that you're going to do it... and watch the clock : ) I'm a month and a half out and it has gotten a little easier. -
2 Years And 130 Lbs Later... Reached My Goal!
cfalbro replied to whatever's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations!!! It's always so exciting to hear success stories such as yours. -
Me too...

Same here, protein shake in the morning. Usually a salad with grilled chicken. I found whole wheat high fiber tortillas at Costco, so usually have one of those with something on it... often it's ground turkey, but have also used chicken salad. Sometimes I'll have an apple for a snack (and extra fiber) or a frozen greek yogurt bar.

Had My 1St Fill About 3 Weeks Ago And Don't Feel Anything
cfalbro replied to Kim Whiteman-Enos's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Same here. I get my second fill on Monday. I'm looking forward to it. But as the poster above me said, it is really important not to drink with your meals. I thought it was going to be impossible too, but I wanted this band more than anything and have done exactly as I've been instructed to ensure success. -
If You Could Really Turn Back Time, Would You Get Banded Again??
cfalbro replied to txdee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The day I had the surgery I would have said NO WAY! It was pretty painful afterward. But today, I would most definitely do it again. I'm very pleased with the results I've had so far. I know they're nothing like some people have had, but for me, it's pretty dang good. -
The more weight you lose the more you have to exercise to lose weight. Maybe try pushing yourself a little harder to get past the plateau.
-
Wow!! I get that too and had no idea, in my support group they said that it's residual gas from surgery, but surgery was a month and a half ago. I'm glad to see this, I'm going to start paying more attention when I get that pain and see if it's after I've eaten.
-
That sounds yummy!! I will definitely try it. I've made something very similar and loved it.
-
Yep, you're right, we rock and we'll get there : ) Sometimes I wonder if the people who lost 100 pounds in a year had these slow periods when they first started... you know, until they got to the "sweet spot". I go back for my second fill in a week. I'm looking froward to it and hope that I'll get some better results after that. I'm fast approaching my first goal- to be 250 pounds by May 1. As of today I have 8 to go, but tomorrow is my "official" weigh in day, we'll see what it looks like tomorrow.
-
I can't believe it's happening. I'm not nervous or scared, just excited and relieved. I've been learning and gathering information for at least 4 years and now it is finally happening- tomorrow at 9:45am. It can't come soon enough and believe me, I'm counting the hours. I'm brand new to this group and looking forward to sharing my success story and encouraged by reading every one else's. I hope that I can find the support I desire here and be of some help to others.
-
Glad to hear of your success!! How much do you have in total now?
-
Same here. been 2 weeks since my fill, no restriction. I'm bummed. Looking forward to another fill in 2 weeks. I really hope that's going to make a difference.
-
Wow!!! That is incredible!! What a success story. I didn't know that they did both surgeries at the same time. Where did you go to have it done?
-
Congratulations on your success so far, that is awesome. I get my first fill today, I'm really looking forward to it.
