Hi, I'm Chris from England.

I passed the age of 40 a couple of years ago and have looked into gastric surgery a number of times but this January was the first time I did what I consider to be 'proper' research and looking at how I could fund it- my BMI was almost 39 which makes me over 5 stones heavier than I want to be. Like most others I have had weight issues for most of my life.

I am now post op and am 27 pounds down and my bmi is at 33. I'm already feeling excited about my future and the personal goals I will be striving to achieve- even the ones I didn't realise I wanted!!

My youngest is 21 in September so that is my first target event. I'd love to be a dress size UK 14 by then :)

I'm having alot of 'stuck' periods when my weight won't shift even 1lb for many days but even if the scales tease me one day with a loss then show up to a 2lb gain for the next 3 days, I know my journey doesn't end here and I'm on this ride for a long time yet!!
